Maximum Security, ridden by Luis Saez, finished first Saturday in the 145th Kentucky Derby at Louisville's Churchill Downs. "This was my dream. I just feel so glad," Saez told race broadcaster NBC.

Not a clue about what?
Ive been a fan for years and Ive delved into historical details few care to bother with. Im only a casual fan but thats more than 99% on this forum.
There is inquiry and objection. The former is from the stewards and the latter from jockeys.
Still didnt mention many incidents.
And bear in mind most of that time there was no filming. No film for stewards. I dont know if the fighting finish even had any replay film for them to use. Post 30s I can imagine, after the photo finish came in.
Tell it to Watchmaker.
And the people who examined this every which way.
And trainer Servis, who hedged and sheepishly demurred when asked if this would pass in a claimer or regular card allowance.
Get over it. He majorly fouled. He lost one. Big deal. Hell be back.
Yea. Right. Big deal
Well see how big when the decline in interest accelerates.
Travesty of justice and a major blight on the game.
Thats the point : there havent been any steward inquiries. Just one. And very few jockey objections. Its been a tacit agreement, until now.... NOT to object on things that dont matter.
Not at all. As was the non-call on Bayern in the BCC.
Upset because a favored horse was DQed? Would you say the same if CH had done this with MS second? Lousy horses and long shots win all the time, it would NOT be unusual. The best horse on paper nor during the race doesnt have to win. Brokers Tip was a cruddy horse, but he won...his ONLY win. Maybe he should have been pulled because of he stunk compared to Head Play? It was Sir Bartons first win, after many losses. It was Native Dancers only loss. It did not change the ultimate view of their careers. KY Derbyis far too overrated.
If youre worried about decline in interest dont. Face it, rAcing is not favored and is basically a curiosity now akin to curling. Some of us are big fans but we are few, have been for decades.
The only thing that can save racing now is a true superstar, who hangs around for a long time. American Pharoah came close, but not long enough. Thanks Justify for helping, staying in racing so long.
Im waiting for Man OWar. Its been a century, and 50 years since Secretariat. Were about due. Except now were fighting a totally marginalized sport.
I dont care about which horse was better on paper. I only care about who performed better on the track. I had money on BOTH horses. In fact, I won more as a result of the DQ. I just like to see the horse that runs the best, WIN.
I already covered that - “nor during the race” doesn’t have to win, and often don’t anyway. Many times people declare some other starter up the track “the best in this race”, but he just had some bad luck.
Being DQd is not bad luck. Its robbery

Joseph Prince - a leader in God’s end-times move of restoring to the church the true Gospel of the Grace of Christ.
Learning about the true biblical grace of Christ has set me free and changed my life forever.
God bless.
May I also add that if you have Christ we’ll all be together in Heaven. But if you receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit now, the Spirit will help you understand grace which the carnal mind cannot comprehend (2 Peter 3:15-16).
God Bless
*sigh* LUCK IS PART OF THE GAME.
Sometimes a small bump or misstep is genuinely part of the game - that’s your luck. Sometimes the best horse is the RECIPIENT of that (major) interference rather than the perpetrator. That’s racing.
And this DQ is the right call, not at all robbery. WW, even COH and LRT as well as BEX got “robbed” of their placings, for sure. Maybe not CH but he just got lucky to end up ahead of all them.
As soon as the rider of MS said the horse spooked and it took a few seconds before he got “control” again, there was an admission of losing control of the horse. The horse MS made contact with was #1, who had just bumped #18 out of his way. It wasn’t contact that got MS disqualified, it was loss of control by the rider, who admitted it. If anyone should have been disqualified for contact, it was #1. As far as anyone being fired for this...IT’S A HORSETRACK! It’s run by HORSETRACK people who take money from people all year long. This is the one event they try to clean up for every year. Thank goodness it isn’t a harness race.
Careful... Oily Rebel will call you "absurd" for saying what you saw.
Watchmaker's article hints at the REAL reason for this fiasco. The Snobs that run Churchill don't like this trainer. They think (but can't prove) he's cheating. ie; doping.... his horses.
NO WAY in hell they would have DQ'q a Baffert horse, or Pletcher horse for that minimal bumping that occurred.
You can watch almost ANY Kentucky Derby and see bumping, swaying, loss of control... etc, at some point in the race. Just last year, there was PLENTY of it, at the same point in the race, behind Justify. No one ever objects.
The stewards Didn't flag anything in this race. But, the racing elite don't like this trainer, or owner. So, they decided to treat him differently.
Now, we won't have the true Derby winner in the Preakness (He would have won it). And, we're likely looking at a lengthy, very ugly law suit. It's going to be a mess.. for a very long time.
All they need now is evidence and/or the money to pay for it. A judge who lost money off MS could also help.
Whatever you think about the foul it didn’t change the outcome of the race so the DQ wasn’t appropriate.
Still sad today....
This was the BIGGEST MISTAKE in horse racing history.
Just, an AWFUL... injustice.
What do you think of the video? I don’t know.
