At 76, Joe Biden is one the oldest people to ever mount a presidential campaign, and in his first speech as a presidential candidate Monday, it showed.

The Pennsylvania native and former vice president — who just announced his third attempt at a run for the White House — repeatedly stumbled and slurred his way through his brief, 27-minute remarks in Pittsburgh Monday. His almost every sentence was peppered with verbal stumbles.

He opened: “I want to thank Rich Fritzgerald, the county executive for — the baladanny — the Alleghengy County executive for being here.”

“The country wasn’t built by Wall St. bankers, CEOs, and hudge — heh — and hedge fund managers,” Biden stammered during what was supposed to be a headline moment.

At various points he stumbled over words like “dignity,” “successful,” and “hospitals.” Occasionally words were entirely indecipherable.

I saw Biden with Obama, celebrating the 2008 win election night. He was falling down drunk as a skunk. I think his drinking will be his Achilles heel.

From the looks of things, it will be crazy Bernie as the nominee. The Dems owe it to him for the way they kicked him to the curb in 2016. I pray it is Bernie. We can roll out those "Weekend with Bernie" jokes to illustrate how bad he is holding up under the crunch of the campaign.

It might be Bernie, it might be someone who hasn’t jumped into the race yet. The way they’re all eating each other now, it might be that none of the current ones will still be in the running by next year.

I couldn’t help watching the video in post 2 and noticed the black guy in back beginning to look with caution, then in question, then look at others if they were hearing what he heard, then wonder why he was there....
