Attorney General Bill Barr will be a no-show at a long-awaited hearing on Thursday before the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee based on current negotiations over his appearance, a source on the committee told Fox News on Sunday.
The emerging spat comes after Barr has endured withering attacks from congressional Democrats, who have outright accused him of sacrificing his integrity to appease President Trump. Barr shepherded the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report in recent weeks, and he has largely become a punching bag for progressives frustrated that Mueller's probe failed to validate claims that the Trump team colluded with Russians.
Fox News has learned that Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., wants to have Judiciary Committee staff -- rather than members of Congress -- question Barr on his handling of Mueller's report.
The attorney general agreed to appear before Congress; therefore Congress does the questioning," a DOJ official told Fox News.
Justice officials also told the committee that they are opposed to the panel's plan to go into a closed session if members want to discuss redacted portions of Mueller's report, a Democratic senior committee aide told The Associated Press.
At a fiery House hearing earlier this month -- prior to the release of the complete Mueller report with only limited redactions -- Barr faced a grilling from Democrats, who said it was "unacceptable" that he had released a 4-page summary of Mueller's findings.
Discussions about Thursdays hearing are ongoing, and expected to resume again tomorrow. Barr is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday and the House panel on Thursday. The GOP-led Senate committee is expected to have normal rounds of member questioning.

I’m liking AG Barr more and more.
If Barr is going to testify before a panel that includes Shiff, closed or not, they might as well do it in a public park.
The Dems are admitting they are too stupid to do the questioning, they have to have their masters come out from cover to do it for them.
Looks like Nadler is going for an inquisition.

And Barr is, rightfully, having none of that. Trump has found the right man for DOJ.
Bump!
Yes ready fire aim
Nadler aka The Turd
Congress bent over backward to accommodate Ford to get her to testify....
Off the Wall Ping!
Contact to be added.
Dems never formally admit anything, but their point comes across anyway. I look forward to seeing Nadler, etc. try to go after AG Barr.
Let them really pi$$ Barr off -— then we will see how many RATS Barr puts hanging from trees....in orange jump suits.

Democrats are worried that demanding all redactions be exposed might in fact expose Hillary, Obama, the Democratic Party and coup d’etats criminal activity.
Trump is holding this whole thing over their head.
He is also holding it as a dark cloud over the election and will see to it that it is released for public consumption directly without the democrats in Congress having the time to establish their false narratives.
Brilliant!!!
The Rats are reinforcing Barr’s disdain and probably hate for them. Barr knows what they are all about and the Rats are in for it. IMO
The Dems like the usual format of alternating questions between the parties for five minutes each. It is the way they protect witnesses they support. Now they want to go in for the kill. Screw them.
“Let them really pi$$ Barr off - then we will see how many RATS Barr puts hanging from trees....in orange jump suits”.
The idiots are so arrogant and hateful that they can’t see why they have pi$$ed him off. They are giving him more and more rope.
Barr/pdjt can just say No. I hope they do. Cooperating with congress or the courts is usually very desirable but not when its an obvious intentional interference with the executive branch - or a witch-hunt.
