Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed Thursday his office is still investigating possible abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by the DOJ and FBI in their investigation into President Trump and associates of his 2016 campaign.
The revelation came during a panel discussion in Washington, D.C., when Horowitz was asked to divulge his biggest projects.
We have a FISA-related review that people might have heard about that the deputy attorney general asked us to take a look at. But Im not going to dwell on that," he said at the event alongside three other inspectors general hosted by the Atlantic Council.
Horowitz did not comment further. The moderator, Sarah Lynch of Reuters, made it clear that the watchdog's FISA abuse probe was off-limits for further questions. I was also asked to just tell everybody please dont ask about an ongoing investigation. Dont ask Michael [Horowitz] about the FISA-Carter Page investigation. He cant talk about it. As much as we all want to know what the finding will be,"
Nearly one year ago, on March 28, Horowitz announced the start of the FISA abuse probe by his office, saying he was doing so following requests from then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Republican members of Congress. These GOP lawmakers alleged the DOJ and FBI had abused the FISA process and misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in their investigation and surveillance of Trump and his associates during the campaign and Trump's administration.

and what the foipoipdiadoif was he doing all this time under the doush nothing the guy is a creep
Wasn’t a “rank” thing, they’d say the file was being used in a Grand Jury investigation, so it was off-limits ... they’d do that over and over, pure & deliberate obstruction ... that’s finished now.
Stay tuned, there’s a lot that’s quietly happening behind the scenes right now ... May and June should be reeeeeeally entertaining for us

BREAKING: After IG Horowitz forced Mueller to kick politically biased Trump-hater Strzok off his investigative team, Mueller embedded FBI analysts in his office whose sole purpose was writing summaries of his investigation & reporting findings back to Strzoks C.I. team at FBI HQ

REX says:
If this is true, its a very troubling development.
This sounds weird I know, but Sperry needs to clarify who Mueller is. People throw around the name as a catch-all.
Does he mean Robert Muellers himself? If so, Bob Mueller is in a world of hurt.
Or (more likely) was it Weissman/Ahmad?
Sperry needs to be EXACT, given the significance of this.
IMO its far more plausible that Weissman and/or Ahmad were McCabes lead insiders on Muellers team, after Strzok and Page were locked out.
The article is from March. Horowitz’s investigations have been going on since Trump took office. In fact, he did a lot before Trump was president but 0bola kicked him the the curb.
I think as noted above, the next couple months are going to be very interesting.
Ah, a hopeless defeatist doom/n/gloomer!
Good think Trump and those on his side are not hopeless defeatists, but FIGHTERS!
Do you have a source for that? I never heard that Horowitz was under jurisdiction of a SC.
I’m really glad that Trump has a lot of dedicatd fighters on his team and not “I give up”ers.
He held back before and was part of the major deflection, so my hopes are tempered.
Also, curious to me that it is a “FISA-Carter Page” investigation.
There’s a lot of info, but doesn’t necessarily get posted. Horowitz has been investigating lots of stuff, but because Sessions stopped the leaks in the DoJ, there’s a lot going on that no one hears about. No leakers.
Sperry was exact. Trying to push accountability downward in this situation is BS.
Mueller was a special hire and Horowitz is the Inspector General of the entire DoJ including FBI so I don’t see how Mueller could have possibly outranked him.
Horowitz couldn’t see something that was involved in a Grand Jury? I really would like to see some sources on that.
Unless you’re referring to FOI? There are very good reasons why public can’t see evidence that is being used for Grand Juries. That way targets and their shyster lawyers don’t know what’s going on. Which is a very good thing.
Grand Jury confidentiality “trumps” everything, apparently. (I’m not a legal expert)
I can’t recall the exact article source where I read it - it was definitely on FR - it must have been some legal analysis (maybe Daniel Greenfield? He always seems to have lots of background detail).
Grand Juries are by their nature secret, which is essential for not letting targets and their peeps and the scum media know what’s going on.
So that’s a good thing.
3/4 of the redactions in the Mueller report were due to ONGOING Grand Juries.
NOT related to Trump, btw.

The OIG offices of every department are authorized separately by Congress from their parent organization and answer jointly to their respective secretary and to Congress itself, rather than to the Executive branch.
Note that the procedure is for indictments to be issued as evidence is uncovered by the IG rather than wait for the completion of a report.
This thing could have been wrapped up months ago. The question is was there a continuing grand jury seated that heard the right “suspect” witnesses under oath, or just looked at documents.
The other alternative is that the corruption was so deep, it involved more suspects than thought, including FISA judges themselves.
Time to end it, put out the report, and let the jailings begin.
Note that there have been over 80,000 SEALED indictments filed within the last year or so.
Just sayin'.
This behavior indicates to me that the stratagy is to keep very very quiet about the direction of the investigation. This keeps those who are under investigation from making moves to hide their culpability or to kill off possible witnesses.
