One ordinary traffic stop in Illinois had an extraordinary ending, when a police officer pulled over a car with expired plates, only to learn the driver had an expired license as well. The law enforcement official learned the man was en route to a job interview, and he had no other way of traveling there. Without hesitation, the officer drove the man to the meeting himself and the man ultimately landed the position.

Cops are scum. No, wait. Guess not.
Well, white privilege applies. No, wait again. The guy was black.
Damned jack-booted thugs...
Actually, the cops are so shocked when the brother-man acts polite and cooperative that they go the extra mile in those cases
Cahokia is a nice little town. I visited The Mounds once. Very interesting.

If only Weasel Mueller were interested in real, actual Justice...
Yeah. They didn’t call the NAACP, ACLU and toss in the race card just for extra drama on this one.
Nice story. Too bad we see so few of these.
Good story. However,I must say that he still should have been cited for plates and license.
So even in cases where some claim that the cops went way overboard there can be gray areas.
LOL. Excellent!
Yes, because petite Australian women are constantly ambushing Minneapolis police officers, you read about it all the time.
Obviously the man had a bit of salesmanship in him. Good for him
My home town. When I was growing up there, everyone knew the cops or at least knew someone in their families. Being a cop there these days is considerably more challenging. This one knows how to serve.
The town and the Mounds are not together. The town is south of East St. Louis and the Mounds are north, outside Collinsville. The town has its own historical significance: it was the first permanent settlement in Illinois (1699) and several French colonial-era buildings survive. Chief Pontiac was assassinated there and George Rogers Clark was there during the War of Independence. Cahokia was kind of a big deal before it was eclipsed by St. Louis.
Thanks. It was ages ago, 7th or 8th grade. Back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

I was there in dinosaur days too, and have been there I don’t know how many times since. It has changed a lot: they have a very good museum and the grounds are much better preserved as a historic site. When I was a kid it was a big picnic grounds. The Mounds themselves were kind ofba afterthought. Well worth a re-visit if you’re ever in the area.

This. So much this. I and I’d wager most of you would do the exact same thing.
A feel great story..thank you officer...
