The comments on this thread show exactly why Mayor Pete is a threat. So he’s gay. Don’t make that the big issue. Relatively few people care, as long as he behaves in a reasonable and well spoken way, which he will. Gay bashing will just engender support. That’s exactly what he hopes opponents will do. He is a hard leftist and should be opposed on economic and liberty issues, not because knuckle draggers think bash the queer is a winning argument in 2020.

The Left thinks most Americans equate gay rights with black (civil) rights. This pisses off practically every black person I’ve ever spoken to. I’ll say it again. An openly gay nominee will cause a lot of Muslims, blacks and Hispanics to not vote for the Democrats in 2020. The Dems will add never-trumpers and Log Cabin Republicans but the trade-off won’t be worth it.

These same types of attacks on Buttigieg for being gay will have the same effect on the left. It’ll backfire - unite them in their favorite stance: victim-hood. And it’ll shake the gay money tree...

If we want to fight Buttigieg - ask why gays in this time and age should get legal protection when people wearing MAGA hats don’t. We’re at greater risk of being attacked by fellow Americans than gays. Then ask if he believes in ‘hate crimes’... and if he would be willing to extend that protection to Trump supporters, or Christians, or members of the NRA...
Then ask him to defend his answer.
