When it comes to Assange and WikiLeaks, check your premises

Is Julian Assange a Russian agent, a criminal hacker, a rapist, all of the above, or, perhaps, nothing of the sort?

The WikiLeaks founder was arrested in the United Kingdom pursuant to a U.S./U.K. extradition treaty. He will soon be extradited to the United States, where he will face charges in the Eastern District of Virginia. The Department of Justice publicly charged Assange with participating in the hacking of classified U.S. government documents.

In both chambers of Congress, and all over cable news, Assange’s arrest drew defiant reactions. The United States has apprehended the notorious WikiLeaks “Russian” operative Assange, many proclaimed.

You have him confused with Daniel Ellsberg.

Without Assange revealing the truth, Crooked Hillary would be president today. He did our country a huge favor by revealing the corruption in the Democrat Party and the election system.

The Rats are giddy about Assanges arrest. But are fine with the Manning thing being let out of jail early. They really are stupid.

I know I will be flamed for this...but the guy is an anarchist. Listen to when he entered the speech he made before entering the Embassy.

"In the post-Trump-Russia era, we can no longer give the benefit of the doubt to officials who insist that the evidence for bombastic allegations is “classified” or would potentially harm “sources and methods.” Following the unprecedented, illegal espionage campaign against President Trump and his associates, on the basis that he too was compromised by the Russians, the American people deserve to see the evidence for tall accusations, like the one linking Assange to the Russians or to any other hostile intelligence service. Transparency demands it."

So where are all the liberal rats demanding "transparency?" They have demanded it of Trump, William Barr, and everyone else only when it conforms to and suits their political ends. Where was the "transparency" with Walter Duranty and the New York Slimes covering up the famine in the Ukraine? Or with Mao and his "cultural revolution" resulting in over 50 million deaths? We are here:“If there are no absolutes by which to judge society, then society is absolute.” Francis Schaeffer, How Shall We Then Live? (Old Tappan NJ: Fleming H Revell Company, 1976), p. 224.“If there are no absolutes by which to judge society, then society is absolute.” Francis Schaeffer, How Shall We Then Live? (Old Tappan NJ: Fleming H Revell Company, 1976), p. 224.

What pathetic retromingent F'ing bastard hypocrites.

He is even worse. He is both an anarchist and a communist. He wants to destroy the western civilization.

Maybe, but he needs too own up to his actions first - not hide out a friendly embassy till he’s old and gray.

That’s bizarre. Why does he have any obligation to the United States, to go prove something by sitting in solitary confinement in a dark corner of Quantico for several decades?
I would prefer he remain free and still keep releasing secrets that the government wants hidden.

As far as I can see your version of owning up to his actions means standing to be judged before a hostile foreign government, and accepting whatever fate they choose for you. No thanks.

Maybe US government is considered friendlier by eclecticEel?

Assange is asshole in many ways, but may I remind his initial rise to fame, that was by pushing a doctored lying helicopter video in 2010.

Baloney, he’s committed to radical openness and minimizing the secrets kept by a government. That’s a Cornerstone of any Republic, and it’s an anathema to Communism which absolutely thrives on secrecy. All despotic governments have a giant proliferation of secrecy.

He was not publishing the nuclear launch codes, and other things like that. He published emails that Podesta and Hillary wanted to never see the light of day. He published that we were providing rifles to the Sinaloa cartel. He published that we were supplying an arming Al-Qaeda and Syria, likewise for Isis. He told us about uranium one. He told us about Hillary cheating the Democrat primary, and having debate questions in advance in the general election.
He published the treachery of nuland and McCain. He exposed that the NSA was engaged in widespread illegal domestic surveillance, and lied about it to Congress. He exposed clappers lie in his testimony. He exposed CIA project Umbridge in the vault 7 release. This allows the CIA to conduct any kind of computer intrusion at once, Emily digital fingerprints allowing them to blame a foreign country. Say for example when they say Russia stole Hillary’s emails.

A song says a lot of things, but he’s not a communist.

There’s nothing doctored about it. An Apache gunship hit a group of insurgents and some journalists was mixed in with them. The US Army should have posted that video on YouTube. Instead they classified it and pretended they didn’t know what happened.

Nothing fake about it.

He is not a US citizen and did not steal anything. I think the statute of limitations is expired. He is no different than NYT and Pentagon Papers.
