President Donald Trump dismissed the news that House Democrats asked the Internal Revenue Service for six years of tax returns on Wednesday.
“Is that all? Oh. Usually, it’s ten so I guess they’re giving up,” Trump replied when asked about the news by reporters at the White House.
House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) requested six years of Trump’s taxes, thwarting the president’s decision not to release them during his run for office.

When this goes to court, the legal standard is whether the committee exercised their discretion to request the tax returns "reasonably," which means for a valid stated reason. The dims will have to argue how Trump's returns uniquely serve a valid oversight purpose of the committee. Targeting an individual for the purposes of harassment is not a valid purpose.

If the IRS gives into their demand, then they have broken the law. Of course the IRS doesn’t give two shits about the law, as we have all seen.
If they can do it to Trump they can do it to any of us.

The tax returns they are seeking were filed BEFORE Trump was an elected official.
Democrats are doing opposition research for 2020, demanding Trump’s tax returns for political purposes.

The IRS by law is required to build a Chinese wall around your tax info so that it can’t be used by anyone else.
You have to report truthfully because the IRS is only interested in getting your money.
I don’t think they all cheat, but they have the best financial people in the world to legally AVOID taxes... (ie Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Congress people)

I would argue they are trying hard to appear to project power they do not have. When the refusal comes, it will be followed by loud cries for impeachment for non compliance.

Taxes is what the IRS does. If President Trump is guilty of a tax offense, I’d expect the IRS would find it way before the CPAs hired by the libs.
No is no since they’ve no legal right to them and it’s a criminal offense to leak them.
