Both groups were surveyed on a host of factors, including their use of marijuana and other drugs. The studys authors concluded that people who smoked marijuana on a daily basis were three times more likely to be diagnosed with psychosis compared with people who never used the drug. For those who used high-potency marijuana daily, the risk jumped to nearly five times."

Article is a fail. Correlation is not causation. I won’t bother with an analogy to prove that principle because the average reader here just doesn’t need it.
That being said, moderation in all things. Just enough to relieve pain or nausea really helps sometimes, and as well to improve focus. I know of what I speak since I’m an old-school coder who also has been through toxic chemo twice.
These days with the wide array of affordable edibles available, there is no need to inhale or smoke anything to get therapeutic low dosages. But totally baked is no way to go through life.
“If you do not believe that marijuana or THC has negative consequences
Alcohol has negative consequences - should it be banned?”
Did I say the word banned? I don’t believe I did, so you are putting words in my mouth and I do not appreciate that.
What I do know is that there is a term used which dates back thousands of years and the term is intoxicant. The root of that word is toxic which relates to a poison.
It is a freedom of choice if one chooses to poison themselves. It becomes a dangerous choice is if one chooses to poison themselves and then drives down the road or act in such a way that kills, maimes, and destroys. That intoxicated choice overstepped personal freedoms and inflicted pain, suffering, and a loss of freedom negating ANY choice for those whom have become victimized by the intoxicated choices of others.
Responsibility goes hand in hand with choice and freedom.
Consequences? Sure. Quality of life? Sure. But they are choices too. Am I on the hook for paying up on someone’s else’s poor choices? Sure I am, just like ever other taxpayer.
Tell that to the tens of thousands of late stage cancer sufferers whose conditions only improved after finally resorting to THC oil.
I'd also like to see a comparison with alcohol. I could easily imagine that "people who drank alcohol on a daily basis were three times more likely to be diagnosed with psychosis compared with people who never drank."
the reason the left is so intent on legalizing pot is that it make the public docile and easier to manipulate.
Fine, clear, no-nonsense post.
Thanks.
Lost my wife.
I really don’t understand why pot people cannot see how a chemical that immediately impairs your brain, judgement and causes physcosis and paranoia while using could actually possibly cause permanent brain damage and mental disorders. Why is it so hard to accept?
... still waiting for psychosis.
My condolences on your loss, Steve.
Cancer is such an ugly business.
plenty of other non drug ways to get to sleep.
Methods
We applied adjusted logistic regression models to data from patients aged 1865 years presenting to South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust with first-episode psychosis and population controls recruited from the same area of south London (UK) to estimate the effect of the frequency of use, and type of cannabis used on the risk of psychotic disorders. We then calculated the proportion of new cases of psychosis attributable to different types of cannabis use in south London.
Summary
The evidence reporting the dose-dependent association between cannabis use and psychotic disorders has been summarised in the meta-analysis by Marconi and colleagues. We searched PubMed for studies published up to March 31, 2018, that had specifically measured the impact of high-potency cannabis use on the odds of psychotic disorder (not psychotic symptoms or psychosis in general) or that had calculated the proportion of new cases of psychotic disorder arising in specific populations that were attributable to the use of high-potency cannabis, using the terms psychotic disorders and high potency cannabis or skunk-super skunk or high THC cannabis; we also included the term population attributable fraction.

A possible limitation of our study is the absence of data on number of joints or grams used per day. However, because we collected information about use over a period of years and not about present use, the reliability of such detailed information would probably have been confounded by recall bias to a greater extent than was the general description of pattern of use that we obtained. The fact that we were able to collect detailed information on other environmental factors and control for their potential confounding effects is a key strength of our study.
And on and on it goes. Proof of suppositions, nothing more.
I can provide even further evidence of more suppositions if you like.
Not that work for me. Wonderful if they do for you.
Yes.
Please make sure it is very high quality and don’t skimp on it even if it bombs you. Take as much as you can handle. A few months of sleeping and being stoned is better than taking a too small of a dose and the cancer isn’t eliminated. I have seen both. I get the psychoactiveness is very uncomfortable but this is life and death fight and it is the cancer that must lose the fight. Some just could not handle the psychoactiveness and didn’t take enough to beat the cancer. I know others who were told there was nothing Dr’s could do and would soon die, but are alive today with cancer gone.
In my prayers Windflier..all the best.
Its all about the chocolate
“In a nutshell, the THC molecule kills cancer cells on contact. “
so does laundry bleach ...
That is interesting. I knew someone who had Schizophrenia and Sativa made him more psychotic, while Indica greatly reduce voices, delusions and other psychotic brain effects.
Thank you, friend. I'm taking as much as is recommended, and then some. I've built up quite a tolerance to the psychoactive effects, so that's no longer an issue.
We're also careful to obtain the best quality we can find.
I'm close to halfway through the recommended 90 day treatment and am beginning to sense some change in my condition. It's tough to explain it to others. I've just noticed slight improvements with lots of little things that might not mean anything to someone else.
I guess you'd have to be in my body to perceive it.
Thank you so much for your encouragement.
BTTT for morning coffee.
