Inducting Jane Fonda into the National Women's Hall of Fame could cost the organization its partnership with Seneca Falls, New York, its host town and the site of America's first-ever women's right's convention in 1848.
Earlier this month, the Hall of Fame announced the actress would be among its class of 2019. Citing Fonda's actions during the Vietnam War, Seneca Falls Supervisor Greg Lazzaro released a resolution Thursday morning that would pull the town's support out of respect for veterans in the community.
The resolution, which is expected to be proposed at next week's town board meeting, was released to the media and public Thursday morning.
"Jane Fondas actions of bringing medical supplies to North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, deriding our POWs...and posing for pictures atop missile-launchers designed to shoot down American planes brought divisiveness to our country and to this day to our Vietnam Veterans and it is viewed by virtually all Veterans as treason to this country," the resolution reads.
In last year's HBO documentary "Fonda in Five Acts," the "Grace and Frankie" star admitted that it was a "betrayal" to pose atop an anti-aircraft gun during her controversial 1972 visit to North Vietnam. "I will go to my grave regretting that," she said.
Despite her apology, Fonda's wartime actions continue to stir debate.

I wonder why she regrets it. It is probably because all the trouble it caused her later, not the fact that she was betraying her country.
Amen. Mine was Blue Water Navy during Nam. They finally declared Blue Water Navy Vietnam Vets instead of era Vets. Haven’t given them Agent Orange rights yet. 20 yr career Ret. SCPO now.
Why do Hollyweirdos get a pass no matter what they do?
All who served during the Vietnam War should be called Vietnam War Veterans.
She should be in the Hall of Fame for giving aid amd comfort to the enemy.
We know that the answer is:
“He (in this case, she) that has the gold, makes the rules!”
Hall of Shame, together with Avenatti, Brennan, Sharpton, both Clintons, and John McCain. She should have been inducted years ago.
Who is your number one? You said 4, but I count 3....
Are you counting the Clintons separate?
Bttt
"I will go to my grave regretting that," she said.
Soon, please.

I’d argue purgatory for McCain. For all of his faults (and he has several, including the crap he pulled in his last moments where he destroyed any chance of our ending Obamacare simply out of spite towards Trump for a perceived slight that the media may have just made up), he at least took torture to avoid getting special treatment compared to his other POWs, not to mention spoke out against the propaganda efforts by the Vietcong against American soldiers, based on this documentary:
https://youtu.be/lsYwdCoOIEI?t=1884
And for the record, this documentary is not really easy to come by, as even Accuracy in Media, which was pretty much the reason this was even made especially after PBS pretty much did a blatant violation of promises with their earlier Vietnam propaganda, hasn’t distributed it since its first airing.
You actually think the VC would torture the son of a Navy Admiral who was Commander in Chief of all U.S. forces in Vietnam?
Considering his political aspirations, there's no way he would have accepted the VC's offer to send him home, leaving his fellow soldiers in prison either........
McCain was a self serving hack right up to the day he died and what people don't realized is his part in blocking information on the MIA's and subsequent investigations........
I will go to my grave regretting that,” she said.
Not nearly soon enough.
L
Amen!
Eh, I fail to see how political aspirations would have factored into it. He could have easily just taken the offer and then come back and still gotten the political aspiration fulfilled with a good deal of spin. If JFK could literally get a medal for bad driving of a PT boat without any real heroism or LBJ get a medal just for riding a plane in a non-combat situation during World War II, I’m pretty sure McCain could come up with something to use as political backing and get out for free at the same time.
And considering his being the son of a Navy Admiral who was Commander in Chief of all U.S. forces in Vietnam would make him a treasure trove of information on our efforts as far as they can tell, yes, actually, they WOULD in fact torture him, ESPECIALLY to glean information on battle plans. Heck, even better, they could have easily exploited that bit to demand a ransom, and let’s face it, political aspirations or not, it takes quite a bit of guts to outright REFUSE allowing yourself to be held for ransom.
And while I have heard about the MIAs and subsequent investigations bit, I’m still not sure that makes him nearly as bad as Jane Fonda, who DID in fact pose with the Vietcong and explicitly sold out POWs to their captors when they entrusted her to deliver information to their commanding officers, or John Kerry, who explicitly met with VC in Paris and started the Winter Soldier “investigations” that were little more than a smear campaign against American soldiers, and may have also provided intel to the VC as well. Is it bad? Yeah, it is. But there’s a difference between blocking MIA investigations and outright selling intel to the enemy, the latter of which DOES amount to treason.
Eh, I’d say Kerry is much worse easily. What he did regarding the MIA investigations was uncalled for and if you ask me a grave lapse of judgment. But it’s still nothing compared to Kerry’s blatant treason during the 1970 Paris Peace Talks, to say little about his Winter Soldier crap.
Besides, Eisenhower did something similar with the POWs after World War II, and he’s considered one of our better presidents.
