Rich San Francisco residents in House Speaker Nancy Pelosis congressional district have collected more than $60,000 after starting an online crowdsourcing campaign to wage a legal challenge against a proposed center for the city's homeless.
The campaign, called Safe Embarcadero for All, was launched March 20 after San Francisco Mayor London Breed proposed a 200-bed homeless Navigation Center in the citys most desirable location, the Embarcadero along the coast of San Francisco Bay, earlier this month.
The planned location for Mayor Breed's #megashelter is home to thousands of families, visited by millions of tourists and at the center of some of San Francisco's most iconic events - including the San Francisco Marathon, San Francisco Giants stadium and on one of the busiest bicyclist paths in the city, reads the site posted by the group opposing the construction.

Never heard of Olathe. Can we assume that it's an upscale kind of place?
Soccer moms in Olathe Kansas are doing the same.

In Johnson County Kansas, one of wealthiest US counties with great schools. Olathe City council approved use of the building for a homeless shelter, then when the buyer closed the deal, the soccer moms got paranoid.
The answer here is simple, we just need a new law regarding vagrants and homeless:
All vagrants and Homeless persons shall be entitled to camp within 500 feet of ANY property owned, leased, rented or occupied by ANY Public Employee, Public Servant, Public Official or Judicial Officer anywhere in the State of California.
“homeless Navigation Center”
Someone deserves a gold star for that euphemism!
While visiting San Francisco years ago, I passed a man on Market Street with the most terrifyingly crazy eyes I’ve ever seen.
He was holding a 6 pack of beer.
One should never, ever make eye contact. They consider that threatening.
He proceeded to follow me, hurling full cans of beer at me.
I broke into a run. He chased me into a bookstore, yanking books off the shelves & throwing them around.
Two store clerks chased him out & locked the door, with me safe inside, until he wandered off.
They told me this was a regular occurance & cops couldn’t do anything.
They said the guy sometimes brandished a knife, but the cops never caught him doing that. So, supposedly he wasn’t a danger to anybody & couldn’t be locked up.
Yes, and the bigger problem is that there are so many scammers out there such that those who truly do need help are less likely to get it.
I'm really tired of seeing young guys in their 20s hanging out at the end of the exit ramp with signs, looking for money.
LOLOL!
“Hitler got rid of the heroin problem. And of course Hitler got rid of lots of other problems.”
Hitler?
You are bringing up positive attributes of Hitler?
Wrong website
I used to be enough of a challenge to walk around that area with the Hari Krishnas panhandling everywhere.
I learned after one visit to tell them Move the ‘F’ out of my way. I said it with enough force that they scattered.
I hereby nominate you to be “King”!
The DemoRat Prog Socialist Rich Ruling Elite use the police to keep the bums in those areas and completely out of the Uber Wealthy mansions, they fine, fee and prosecute ordinary SF citizens that try to move the bums out of their doorways.
If Feinstein and Pelosi et all, had to put up with 'em for a day they'd all be moved to the middle of Nevada within a week.
Our disruptive homeless were culled by drunk college students who didn’t mind slapping them around.
Perhaps someone who, like in Navy Patriot's post adjacent to yours, advocating putting the "homeless" in the neighborhoods of the rich and famous to test their tolerance.
Baghdad by the Bay Rich Folk up in arms over homeless shelter to be built in prime location.
No film coverage at 11.. but we got drivebys dropping like flies in the East Bay.. heck the whole Bay..
Liberals are the biggest opponents of affordable housing. Here's proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExgxwKnH8y4
I couldn’t agree with you more. If only we could make you King. Something has to give. We’ll never fix this coup of our nation at the ballot box - even if we could, the voting system has been hi-jacked by the communist mob and it would never allow it. We’re so far down the rabbit hole I fear there is no peaceful way to solve it, and worse yet, not enough people with the balls to do anything about left to care. It’s only a matter of time.
P.S. I served in the Navy too way back when.
