Trump team turns tables after Mueller report, calls for investigation into probe's origin
Fox News ^ | March 24, 2019 | Andrew O'Reilly

President Trump and his legal team declared total victory Sunday following the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s key findings -- including no evidence of collusion with Russia during the 2016 campaign -- but sought to turn the tables by renewing calls to investigate the investigators.

Trump himself slammed the probe as an “illegal takedown,” as he called Mueller’s report a “complete exoneration” and said it was a “shame” his presidency had to deal with the investigation for two years.

“Hopefully somebody is going to look at the other side,” Trump said. “This was an illegal takedown that failed and hopefully somebody is going to be looking at the other side.”

“.....Can someone explain what part, if any, that Sessions played in all of this...beyond picking his nose?........”

I think that the Deep State blackmailed Sessions and had him pinned against the wall for something he did in his past.

I think that blackmail is how WA DC is run by the insiders.

Session recused himself. That was the problem.

POTUS gave the special counsel to the Democrats. If he didn’t want them to have it he could have fired Mueller at any time. He wanted them to have it because it got them to focus all their hopes and schemes onto this one investigation, which he knew would ultimately go nowhere. In war, to get the enemy to attack you exactly where you want him to, you sometimes feign weakness where you really have strength.

I’m still convinced that Sessions was playing the part POTUS wanted him to play. Sessions was barely confirmed. If he had come out like gang busters you can bet the Democrats would have harassed him until he was rendered impotent, eventually either resigning due to some manufactured scandal,
or being asked by POTUS to step down before he could
accomplish anything. POTUS didn’t have the political capital to put an openly aggressive AG in office with all the deep state actors like McCabe, Page, etc. still in place and with a GOP majority that still had a large contingent of obstructionist RINOs in control.

Instead, Sessions recused himself and put the special counsel into the hands of a deep state operative, i.e. Rosenstein, who had likely made a deal with POTUS from
the beginning. If you’re going to feint, you have to make it convincing, hence all the public trashing of Sessions
by POTUS.

So POTUS gave the Dems this shiny object to play with while, with Session’s help, the real work was quietly being done behind the scenes without being noticed, e.g. IG Horowitze and John Huber. Huber was appointed by Sessions. When the time was right, (i.e. when the Justice Department ranks had been cleared of the traitors like Comey, McCabe, Strozk, Page, et al. and the Mueller, Horowitz and Huber investigations were nearing an end.) Sessions stepped down. He played his role.

POTUS played baseball. Sessions was his opener. Now that the game situation has changed and POTUS is ready to go on the offensive, he’s bringing in his closer. And the Dems are none the wiser on how it all happened.

The problem with the probe is it will eventually lead back to the Clinton/ 0bama machine and we just cannot have that

a special council to investigate former president OBAMA! what he knew and when he knew it!

Look for these tidbits and reevaluate what you refer to as a "special council".

Special Counsels, Independent Counsels, and Special Prosecutors: Legal Authority and Limitations on Independent Executive Investigations

It should be noted that the Attorney General also possesses general statutory authority to appoint DOJ staff to conduct or coordinate particular investigations.80 DOJ has used this authority previously to appoint individuals who were referred to as “special counsels” to investigate particular matters.81 This authority differs from the special counsel regulations because it involves assignment of an internal agency official rather than an individual from outside the government.82 For example, in 2003, then-Deputy Attorney General James Comey (acting in place of then-Attorney General John Ashcroft, who had recused himself from the investigation) used this statutory authority to appoint Patrick Fitzgerald to lead an investigation of whether White House or other federal officials unlawfully leaked the identity of a Central Intelligence Agency officer to a reporter.83 While referred to as a special counsel, Fitzgerald was serving as a U.S. Attorney when named to lead the investigation, precluding an appointment under the special counsel regulations.84 While an individual referred to as a “special counsel” thus may be appointed under either the general statutory authority or under the specific special counsel regulations, those named under the regulations might be viewed as possessing more independence, as they are appointed from outside the agency and are insulated by the regulations from removal except for cause. And this... Special Counsel
The DOJ’s general administrative hiring authority (28 C.F.R. Part 600) authorizes the Attorney General to appoint special counsels. Special counsels exercise more independence than regular DOJ officials and employees, but because the Attorney General generally appoints, supervises, and may remove special counsels, they are considered to be less independent than independent counsels were. (The term “special counsel,”when used in the context of independent criminal investigations of executive officials, is entirely distinct from the Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency, which investigates certain federal personnel practices.)
People are being deliberately confused by the misuse of the expression "special counsel" and how a true, regulatory special counsel is used.

POTUS: “This was an illegal takedown that failed and hopefully somebody is going to be looking at the other side.”

TITLE OF ARTICLE: “Trump team turns tables after Mueller report, calls for investigation into probe’s origin.”

Come on... what the president actually said and what the title of the article actually says does not align Koat all.

I guess not firing Mueller and Co. may have been a good decision on Pres. Trumps part after all?

If Trump fired Mueller and Co. the Democrats would just appoint someone worse. And they would have ammo for obstruction.

This is the time for at least one cautionary note:

The most dangerous time in the life of any man is following a great victory.

This is the time to take steps deliberatively, taking great care to seek fairness and justice not vengeance (which we all desire).

Sometimes you leave your enemy with no solution or recourse except to do the unthinkable. And this enemy, here and now, relishes unthinkable acts and is not only desperate but intensely evil at their core.

With that, we should all want the next steps to move forward and justice to be fully pursued on a great and terrible enemy of the people. But caution is necessary and security is imperative.

So, you’re only happy if the President of the United States is guilty of something?”

No, they're CONVINCED he's guilty of something. Anything less than proof is a cover up.
