The DCCC Sure as Hell Isn't Going to Let Another AOC Win
Splinter ^ | 3/22/19 | Jack Crosbie

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released a new set of rules on Friday that aims to protect incumbent candidates across the country at the cost of also cracking down on any ideological progress or debate about the party’s direction.

The DCCC’s new “hiring standards,” which, per the National Journal, went out to more than 100 political firms that consult or work on campaigns around the country, say the organization will not contract with or recommend the services of any firm that chooses to work for an incumbent Democrat’s opponent. In other words, if a political firm challenges the status quo at all—like working with Ayanna Pressley or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the 2018 midterms, when they both defeated longtime incumbents—they face a DCCC blacklist.

According to the National Journal:

The new protocol, intentionally debuted early in the off-year before most campaign hiring begins, presents a stark financial deterrent to the country’s top firms that provide essential services ranging from polling to TV advertising to strategy. It could cripple would-be primary opponents’ ability to entice top talent to join their staff. The DCCC independent-expenditure arm doles out millions in contracts to consultants and drives more revenue toward them by connecting campaigns with vetted operatives.

“The DCCC is often times the gatekeeper for consultants to get to candidates,” said Ian Russell, a campaign media strategist and former top official at the committee. “Unless you have a steady stream of income coming from another source, it would be very difficult to navigate the House world if you were shut out by the DCCC.”

The DCCC’s weak justification for these rules is to protect the Democrats’ hard-won majority in the House. But this doesn’t do that. Blocking the best political firms from working with progressive primary opponents doesn’t make fragile centrists in swing districts any safer from Republicans in the general election, but it certainly hinders those districts from putting up a stronger candidate if one comes along. It could also have the effect of helping protect all incumbents, not just the obstinate centrist ones who pander to the Republicans or the status quo.

DCCC just changed rules completely cutting off all services, monies and support including contractors and vendors for groups primarying against fellow democrats.

The democrat civil war has begun and Pelosi comes out with a 5 point exploding death blow to Ocasio's face.

Yeah wow!

... the organization will not contract with or recommend the services of any firm that chooses to work for an incumbent Democrat’s opponent...

That’s not very progressive of them at all :)

I guess they don’t want more AOCs :)

But this is what they wanted and a lot of money can be raised by radical yoots like they did for bernie.

The cat’s out of the bag...whatever the hell that expression means :)

“But AOC is an incumbent now, this helps her.”

1.The plan is to gerrymander her district to one of the surrounding ones. They have lost Joe Crowleys fundraising money from very large corporations. There are dems next door who can eat up her very small district and deliver $$$ to the dems. She will simply be left to drift on her own.

2. If they want to , they will bend the rules any way they see fit to get her out.

Here’s an analogy. At the start of WWII the Japanese seized the rubber plantations that America needed to produce products like tires. Almost immediately, American companies developed better, cheaper synthetic products.

I don’t see where the contractors and companies that the DNC has used in the past have done great things for them. The crew that got AOC elected were purportedly a group of ideologically motivated (as opposed to money motivated) geniuses who left the defunct Sanders campaign and were picked up by a well financed but new political group. From scratch, they created a new kind of campaign and did very, very well. Although they fielded 79 candidates and most of them failed, they got 7 of them, radicals all, elected to office. That is a stunning success for a group that had never done anything of the sort.

The danger the DNC created for itself is they seized the political rubber plantations just when the enemy has developed a new synthetic replacement. I suspect the DNC will lose more than they will win. It’s the Geriatric Old Guard against the Young Turks.

Don’t be surprised if Republican firms make out like bandits due to this policy - at least the ones who run operations like print shops, etc. They most likely don’t care who they serve, and I wouldn’t either (although my profits would only go to conservatives).

I totally hear and understand what you are saying.

A vacuum is needing to be filled however other then funding from Soros directly, I dont see the intelligence and talent to financially to sustain themselves as a new party or platform.

They have solely had too rely on democrat $$$ to start and they are basically cutoff.

Yes Bernie did it but Bernie didnt piss everyone around him off while building up the coffers and he played the game until he got strong enough.

AOC is one big act. She's smaking the standard Democratic moves:
(A) to keep herself in office, and, (B) gain wealth off of politics, both at the same time.

====================================

BACKSTORY: "Justice Democrats" and “Brand New Congress” are a group of Bernie Sanders ex-staffers who decided 2018 midterms
should be all about Bernie's policies, finding 400 Bernie carbon copies to dump into races. AOC was hired to run in NY.

NOTE
<><> "Brand New Congress" mastermind is Saikat Chakrabarti
<><> "Justice Democrats" is Cenk Uygur, a Turkish-born Muslim.
Making a pile of money musta been a huge incentive. Read on.

==========================================

.......an FEC complaint was filed against AOC alleging her COS, Saikat Chakrabarti, created multiple
private companies--LLCs--to siphon off campaign contributions from her various PACs for personal use......

BTW, besides socialism (gag)....Bernie and AOC have a lot in common.

AOC’s COS used to be Bernie’s....wait for it....."Director of Organizing Technology."

AND THIS--Saikat Chakrabarti, is a proven tech expert.
(A) He co-founded a web design tool,
(B) He built up the product team at the payment processor "Stripe".........
(C) He then came to the Sanders campaign after (cough) growing disillusioned with the tech world.

Saikat Chakrabarti was Bernie's Director of Organizing Technology. Even old man Bernie knew enough to hire a tech expert.

So, I guess (smirk) Chakrabarti's tech skills musta come in mighty handy when donations to Bernie were
wire-transferred to the DNC and ended up in 2016 candidate Hillary's account.
Debbie W/S headed the DNC at the time and was ousted b/c of her bias for Hillary.

Course, none of us heard about any of this, but.....
<><> Chakrabarti-the-tech-whiz did find out about the DNC theft, didnt he?
<><> Chakrabarti did speak to D/W/S about it, or to Debbie's tech expert, Imran Awan, didnt he?
<><> Chakrabarti did tell Bernie he was fleeced, didnt he?
<><> Chakrabarti WAS working for Bernie, wasnt he?

Now the stunning details about that FEC complaint:

The FEC complaint asserts that AOC's COS, Saikat Chakrabarti, early on established two PACs that raised big bucks for AOC's campaign:
<><> the "Brand New Congress PAC," and,
<><> the "Justice Democrats PAC."

After mucho money was raised, Chakrabarti systematically transferred $885,000+ in PAC contributions to his private companies with similar names:
<><> the "Brand New Campaign LLC," and,
<><> the " Brand New Congress LLC."

Saikat Chakrabarti's private companies, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures.
NOTE WELL: it's a much-used criminal act to enrich oneself, to open bank accounts using similarly named
entities to siphon off money, to hide it from partners, associates, investors etc.

SIPHONINGS A CINCH It's easy to siphon off money for oneself by putting checks into the new accounts with similar names, depositing checks that were made out to the original entity.

Even your bank will advise you that if the check-writer "mis-spelled" your name.....to just endorse the check with the correct name.

AND PRESTO: a check made out to Brand New Congress PAC, is deposited in the Brand New Congress LLC account.

==========================================

ANALYSIS --- Chakrabarti's companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how AOC's donations were used. The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions, according to the FEC complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

Campaign finance attorneys described the arrangement as “really weird” and an indication "there’s something amiss." They said there was no way of telling where the political donations went — meaning (A) the donations could have been pocketed, or, (B) used by the LLC's to pay for off-the-books campaign operations.---SNIP---SOURCED FROM FR.

===================================
JUST WONDERING .....does Chakrabarti have a reputation among Democraps for facilitating the conversion of campaign donations?

Maybe we should ask landowner Socialist Bernie (smirk)?

I know that some say that AOC was groomed by the Justice Democrats, but Crowley losing still was huge. The Dems just got caught sleeping and now they’re pissed over it. Low turnout or not, Crowley should have won his seat.
