A disturbing video of a TSA agent patting down a 13-year-old boy with a mental disability has again gone viral on the internet, prompting even President Trump to weigh in this time on the disgusting incident.
The incident actually occurred two years ago, in March 2017. Jennifer Williamson was traveling with her family from Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport to San Diego for vacation. Before they could depart, though, her 13-year-old son, Aaron, was pulled from the security line to undergo one of those random checks by a Transportation Security Administration agent. Williamson posted a video on her Facebook page, which has since been viewed millions of times.
The video re-emerged in the last few days, first tweeted out by actor-turned-activist James Woods, who has more than 2 million Twitter followers. Late Tuesday, comedian Larry the Cable Guy, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitley, followed suit, posting the video on his feed, which has more than 500,000 followers. In his post, Whitley said: Absolutely ridiculous! How many times do you have to feel a kid up to figure out hes not a threat? This is infuriating and hard to watch.

Exactly. Fly private anytime you can!!
The TSA activiities have vastly changed in the last 5-6 yrs. I fly a lot and the employees at the TSA are friendly, funny, and not a slightest bit rude. I don’t know what happened, but it was 180 degree reversal.
I’m a 6 foot blond blue eyed guy and they used to LOVE hassling me. In San Fran I got patted down 3 f’n times by them before stepping onto the plane. The rudeness at the Canadian border was so bad they asked my wife completely inappropriate questions...
Even at Heathrow a few years back, I was really impressed with how professional they are. But again, BEFORE that, it was OBNOXIOUS.
I’d love to go back to Hawaii but it ain’t in the cards. “
So go on a cruise to Hawaii.
.
Good to see POTUS is aware of the problem. Hate to say this mess is now on him, but it is. Hope he does something about it beyond tweeting.
Sounds like something the President of the United States could take care of...Maybe secure the border and drain the swamp while you’re at it.
We’re done being outraged.
My Dad,who died at the age of 89,lived with me for the last 10 years of his life...years that saw a deterioration in physical health and mental agility. Each winter we'd go down to Florida for a few weeks so he could see sunshine and have no need for a coat.
Each time the TSA would pat him down...after instructing him to get out of his wheelchair...and wave that wand all around him.Given that he looked 95 instead of 85 or so I found it amazing and disgraceful...but I didn't say anything for fear of getting into serious trouble.
As for your wife I assume it's female agents doing this. I'm no expert on such things but my guess is that there's some kind of standardized, and widely recognized, method for "patting down" a female. If any agents have gone beyond that method the next step,it seems to me,would be for her to prove it....which I suspect would be difficult.
Put me on your list for driving too.
Several years back a couple of these goons worked in tandem, one of whom was a male homosexual. The cohort would identify "hot" males for enhanced screening and send the unsuspecting traveler back to the perv. Their game was discovered and both were dismissed (can't remember whether they were prosecuted).
We had a security presentation by a TSA regional manager around the same time, and I gave him hell about it. He was both embarrassed and very angry at what the incident did to further sully the TSA's reputation.
“The rudeness at the Canadian border was so bad they asked my wife completely inappropriate questions...”
Such as? At least topics if too graphic to relate.
Any if Trump did and managed to get the TAS agent fired, some liberal judge would impose a nationwide ban prohibiting the President from these kind of actions.
Time constraints. 1800 mile road trip to get to San Diego. However many days to sail to Hawaii and assuming they had a cruise going to my island of choice (Kauai). And then the cruise back. And then the long trip back home. Flying there and back was much easier and faster but I won't.
I have had both knees replaced, so I have to go through the full-body scanner. Every time, I have to be “patted down” and every time, it is different. Some are quicker — light pat-downs, and others are close to an outside body cavity search. Like another poster said, they always find something “suspicious” on the scan, other than my knees. They have even swabbed my hands — for God knows what. I went to Israel in January, and, ironically, I had a much more pleasant experience going through their metal detection process. I told them about my knees, and the young woman just patted my legs very lightly, and I was on my way! I guess the Israelis know more about detecting real terrorists than our idiot TSA employees.
TSA agent went outside for a smoke after that session.
Someone made the rules for TSA. The rules allow for NO discretion.
Suppose the rules allow the agent to wave through 80 year old nuns. Then the terrorists will sneak things through with 80 year old nuns. Same with babies.
But the intrusive feeling up has no place. Find another way, like xray or robots.
Even better, have separate flights for m*slims and their sympathizers.
Bingo! I would rather go through the machine, and have, but TSA makes flying such a NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE that I pray that no family or friend passes away before TSA gets the boot. I won't fly because of them. UGH!
The border guard, US, pointed at our 3 kids in the back seat and asked my wife “Who do those belong to?”
My wife is Canadian born, and we live in Seattle area. For many years between 1997 and about 2007 we crossed the border on average 2-3 times per month. They always seemed to either take pleasure in being rude, or were instructed to do so to make people nervous. I can see the potential advantages of being like that in catching the occasional bad person, but the offense it creates to 99.9999% was probably deemed unwarranted.
We rarely cross the border any more, my Mother In Law now visits us for longer stays, and I haven’t been up there now in at least 3 yrs.
I do know for a fact that when you do come and go, they record in computers everything you say and create a profile, data harvest. I’ve had them ask me some interesting questions based upon their tracking.
In 1997 they asked me why it took so long for me to get from the one border to the next crossing. I’d stopped to check into a hotel. But they were tracking me. And that is over 20 yrs ago! Imagine what they do now??
“and assuming they had a cruise going to my island of choice (Kauai).”
Beautiful place——granddaughter going to a wedding there in June.
Sorry a cruise won’t work but I certainly get your point.
.
Trump was smart to get out in front and do this. Now the leftists will have a hard time using this issue against Trump.
TSA - Tough Sh1t, Assh0le
Among the other benefits of the card is that you're not screened as "thoroughly" at airports and your luggage isn't scrutinized as closely. This is done because you go into a special lane at airports (and at land borders) where they know you've already been pre screened.
If you travel a lot it's worth the $50 fee and the bother of setting up the required interviews.
