CNN’s Ratings Are SO LOW …

Ace of Spades calls attention to the latest cable-news ratings, as reported by @RoadMN on Twitter, and it really is astonishing how bad CNN ratings are. It’s not just the fact that Fox News is stomping the crap out of CNN in prime time where, for example, Tucker Carlson’s 8 p.m. ET audience (3.14 million viewers) is three times larger than Anderson Cooper’s (1.03 million). CNN’s ratings are so low that no show on the network rates higher than 28th in all cable news programming.

You see that the highest-rated hour on CNN (Chris Cuomo at 9 p.m. ET) has an audience of 1.11 million, which is not only dwarfed by Sean Hannity’s audience (3.3 million), but is also smaller than, for example, the 7 a.m. hour of Fox & Friends (1.47 million). The audience for CNN’s morning programming is microscopic — New Day, hosted by Alisyn Camerota and John Berman, gets barely half a million viewers. How can words convey just how pathetic CNN’s numbers are? You’re talking about a national network, with anchors earning millions annually, supported by a vast staff of reporters, producers, editors and technicians. And at 8 a.m. ET, Camerota and Berman are viewed by an audience of 567,000. By comparison, Olivia Jade Giannulli, the vapid airhead whose mother cheated to get her into college, has 1.9 million YouTube subscribers. That’s right — this idiot teenager can post a makeup tutorial that gets more than twice the viewers of CNN’s New Day. CNN has no viable commercial purpose. There are many YouTube channels with larger audiences — PewDiePie routinely gets 4 million views. If a Swedish comedian on YouTube is four times more popular than your cable-news network, the word for this is failure.

I just did some homework after direct TV now raised their rates. I loaded philo TV last night. It gives me virtually everything I had with direct TV now EXCEPT NEWS AND SPORTS. No CNN MSNBC or FOX.

One exception they have One American news OAN. Gonna try it for a week or so. Then I am cancelling DTN. And the bonus. 16.00 a month. Not 50.00

CNN covers nearly half of all the first 52shows, but most are in last place. You can call that shotgun propaganda policy.

About those airport fees ...
It seems CNN pays airports to use CNN.

Not only that, but ...
CNN Airport is not the exact same feed as the standard CNN, as additional sports and weather segments are added while some graphic video is removed. CNN Airport also goes out of its way to remove any coverage of plane crashes or air disasters that could spook passengers.

Dana Bash and John King are the only 2 people on CNN I can stand to listen to.

Cuomo is an absolute clown. Same with Don Lemon.

I just looked up various article and you are right. I didn't know that CNN is PAYING to be on those TVs.

I just spotted this while searching...

Growing questions about CNN's airport monopoly as network veers left

March 23, 2018, Fox News.

San Francisco International Airport told Fox News it has informed CNN that the relationship will be terminated next month when the existing contract expires, pointing to improved mobile devices and free airport Wi-Fi that allow travelers to curate their own content as the primary reason.

I was wondering when personal devices would make airport TVs obsolete. For forty years, I've diligently tried to get as far away from those infernal idiot boxes in airports as I possibly can.

Only thing that should be projected on airport walls is the weather network.

Wonder if CNN gets the money to pay the airport bribes from cable carriage fees...?

Part of it is carriage fees, as it is for every cable channel. Beyond that, as the article mentions, CNN is not commercially viable.

Yeah maybe.

Better with the sound off and just watch the forecast projected as images.

Can’t remember ever watching CNN at any airport. Glanced at it was i was walking by of fiddling on a smart phone.

I cannot help but wonder what percentage of CNN’s ratings are from airports, bus terminals and train stations that CNN paid to force their content on to travelers?

Fine print says counting is from 6 a.m. to midnight ET. So F & F doesn’t get credited for their earlier viewers.

Any one know the ratings for 11 P.M. fox at night WITH Shannon Bream?

I love when Ed Henry fills in for her, she gets on my last nerve and watch a bit of her then OFF...

She is just too ‘stuffy’ for my taste buds.
