The dossier that launched several investigations into Donald Trump and his presidential campaign was based, in part, on posts from "random individuals" from a CNN website that allows the public to publish unverified information.
Christopher Steele made the admission in a deposition given in connection with a lawsuit against the dossier. The judge released portions of the deposition this week.
Washington Examiner:
According to deposition transcripts released this week, Steele said last year he used a 2009 report he found on CNN's iReport website and said he wasn't aware that submissions to that site are posted by members of the public and are not checked for accuracy.
A web archive from July 29, 2009 shows that CNN described the site in this manner: "iReport.com is a user-generated site. That means the stories submitted by users are not edited, fact-checked, or screened before they post."

WHY ARE THERE 23 MILLION FEDERAL EMPLOYEES?!?!!?
I figured maybe there were half a million!!
>>That McCain, he sure was a maverick.<<
lol. Right?
When McCain launched his presidential bid, his campaign slogan was, “The Maverick for Change”.
I about threw up in my mouth when I first read that. lol
>>nakedly Democratic<<
Man, I hate to sound like the grammar police...lol, but they are anything but democratic.
They are democrat. As in crook. As in delusional.
what is a currency and credit derivative and why is it at over half a (whatever comes after trillion) dollars?!?!?
Does your dog bite?
Why no.
Dog bites.
You said your dog does not bite!
That is not my dog!
It’s over.
That is why they want to drop the age down to 16.
I agree. This is why they have not come out and said anything about the warrants.
They’re freaking sick.
Kids mature so slowly today it should be raise to 25.
As for the age change, ain’t happening.
This is a guy, I wish he could get deader.
“We need to use Hillarys restart button on the feds. Clean house and start over.”
Everyone above agent level at the FBI needs to be polygraphed and any failures will that resulted in a crime will be prosecuted and imprisoned. Or they can resign prior and lose their pensions.
“Trump is doing great, but unless we take back the schools and the media the numbers of indoctrinated will be too large in 20 years to overcome.”
Oh, please, give us a reason to believe that it is not far too late already. I’m ten weeks from my 75th, the young people I see with their “smart” phones clutched tightly in their hands seem like an unknown species in comparison to what young people were sixty years ago or even thirty years ago. They “know” so much that is pure BS that I cannot imagine what a world run by them will be like. I’m lucky though, I don’t expect to be here in twenty years.
lol !!!
And I had to stand in line to vote for him .... because I could see what the opposite was.
Two lousy choices. Tried to pick the least lousy. And then he just got steadily worse and worse. Well, both of them did.

Incredible. So, as people are going to jail for the fraud submitted to universities, these folks are still sitting pretty after submitting fraudulent info to the courts.
Agree. He knew it wasnt verified. What sort of moron is he trying to pass himself off as. But, if he could be brazen enough to put together a report of lies, it shouldnt surprise me hed lie again.
It would be LOL except for the fact it almost prevented DJT from getting elected, it has hamstrung his administration for two years, it is sending his colleagues to jail for no reason, and going to make it harder for him to attract excellent people.
Other than that, it’s pure LOL.
That's a concise summary. It was all manufactured to give them a pretense to spy on the Trump campaign with the goal of stealing the election, interfering with the federal government after Trump won, and sending Trump colleagues to jail. There is no doubt about it at all.
WHEN is somebody going to be held to account for this? It's a million times worse than Watergate, but nothing is being done.
