The tweet comes hours before Newsom, a Democrat, is expected to sign an executive order that would halt all executions at San Quentin State Prison, closing a new execution chamber. The order would also withdraw lethal injection regulations. The order, though, would leave all convictions intact.
“The intentional killing of another person is wrong. And as governor, I will not oversee the execution of any individual,” Newsom said in a prepared statement obtained by the Southern California News Group.
Newsom, who has been a vocal opponent of the death penalty, said that the measure is a “failure” that “has discriminated against defendants who are mentally ill, black and brown, or can’t afford legal representation.” He also said that many innocent people have been wrongly convicted and sometimes put to death.
But Newsom’s order will go against the wishes of California voters, who in 2016 backed a measure to speed up executions.

The Democrats have no problem with the thousands of babies executed each year.

Many Americans heard the cheers of pro-abortion New York Democrats after they passed the extreme abortion bill, the Reproductive Health Act. Now the state’s laws mirror those of China and North Korea. Abortion is legal in New York for any reason and throughout the entire pregnancy. If someone kills a mother’s “wanted” unborn child in a homicidal act other than “legal abortion”, there’s no criminal statute to prosecute the attacker. New York Dems have gleefully deemed a group of human beings as ‘non-persons’.
Hmmmmm, where have we seen this before?
It’s Black History Month, and we’ve still not learned from history. Slavery. Jim Crow. KKK. Lynching. Poll Taxes. Literacy Tests. And now, Limitless Abortion. How many times does the Democrat Party need to be wrong? How many millions need to be killed, harmed and exploited for Americans—of any hue—to wake up and see abortion for what it is: systemic racism and elitism.
The GOP thinks that type of propaganda is beneath them. But the Democrats use the racial memes very effectively to control blacks. The result is that the impact of dozens of police shootings of black males each year (most of which are justified) outweigh the impact of a half million or so black babies killed for convenience every year.

Why is it when reading this article and the comments do i hear a strange instrumental musing of The Doors with Jim Morrison screaming incoherently and banal?
California has essentially had no death penalty since the 70s. The legal system conspires to make sure almost no one is actually executed.
Of the 737 death sentences handed down since 1978, only 13 have actually been carried out, and none in the last 13 years.
Then all those Euthanasia drugs have to go, as that is what they use.

What a sad joke. This is nothing new. They run CA like they're Communist dictators.
I demand California return to its previous policy of executing one prisoner every 20 years. Most of those on CA’s death row will die of old age anyway, so they may as well not even have a death penalty.
