It's an old complaint that "the younger generation" doesn't speak well. It's all "like" and "you know" and similar verbal tics. But I swear it's beyond the level of clumsy articulation now. I keep bumping into people who think they are communicating:

"So, there was that -- you know? And, well, last week ... whatever. So they changed it. Because now, you know, Steve is going to -- but that's because of the memo or whatever. And so you can't, you know, you can't, I mean, you can't ... whatever. It's so frustrating!"

Yeah. It's frustrating.
