CNN focus group rejects Biden
Hill ^ | 3/5/19 | Joe Concha

A CNN focus group comprised of Democratic voters has rejected former Vice President Joe Biden as their presidential nominee.

The focus group's dismissal of Biden is notable since the former vice president, who is expected to join the Democratic primary soon, has been leading a number of public opinion polls and is seen as the potential front-runner.

The Democrats gathered by CNN, however, said they weren't interested in Biden. Some said they wanted a candidate who was further to the left.

“I think we need a bold, strong leadership, and you’ll find that in the progressives," Democratic voter Carol Evans said.

“We had the standard-bearer for the kind of pragmatic centrist candidate in Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Donald Trump is now president. He is not your average political candidate, so we really need to try to think outside the box because, you know, it seems like the dude is made of rubber. Anything you throw at him just bounces off, there’s nothing that sticks," said focus group member Michael Milisits.

Several progressives, including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), have entered the race.

The focus group was moderated by "New Day" co-anchor Alisyn Camerota at CNN's New York City bureau.

When she asked if any of the focus group members would like Biden to enter the race, none of the six people raised their hands.

A brilliantly honest observation.

More left, of course, and less inappropriate rubbing of other people's children would be nice too.

They are destined to pick the looniest moonbat they can drag through the primaries. Momo-casio is whispering in their ears that they should commit suicide and they cannot not listen to her.

Most of them think Bernie would have given Trump a tougher race than Hillary. They’re probably right. She was an exceptionally bad candidate.

The Democrat Left is tired of waiting for their {free health care} {free college} {guaranteed government job} {free child care} {insert preferred freebie here}.

After decades of hearing people like Obama, Hillary and Biden promise these things they want someone who is actually going to DELIVER.

The DemonicRats would have a very hard time choosing between Stalin and Mao because both were mass murders of incomprehensible scales. This is the kind of dictator they are looking for.

I’m not surprised by that comment. A liberal acquaintance of mine recently said, “I wish Ocasio-Cortez was 35 years old. I’d vote for her for president next year.”

(No, I’m not kidding.)

This is really a good thing.

It means the Dems are now so far left that they can’t ‘run back to the center’ for the general election.........................

“Unnamed Democrat” would clearly defeat Trump in 2020, just like he would have beaten Bush in 2004. Unfortunately for the DNC, “Unnamed Democrat” was nowhere to be found in 2004, so they had to nominate John Kerry instead. It’s looking like the same thing is going to happen this time.

Ironically, the Dim base has something in common with the pubbie base. They are tired of their Washington elites always promising but never delivering. They want a disrupter - only from the left.

I don't think a majority of American voters want a far leftie, but I also think we'll find out in 2020.

Say what you will about her, but she is extremely bold in her positions, and she pushes back like Trump when people challenge her. I would not laugh-off the idea.

I think Biden is the only one who could win back the white blue collar union voters and therefore the only one that might beat Trump when you factor in the expected 10% voter fraud. Joe having troubles pre-primary is good news

Joe sounds like he’s going to turn out to be the Democrat’s Jeb. The familiar candidate that is close to the center with a huge fundraising advantage who is completely out of step with the party.
