Bill Maher derided Middle Americans in red states as envious of their blue-state counterparts.....Maher blamed Amazon's Bezos for pitting wealthy cities against one another in a battle over the next Amazon headquarters, while ignoring states that would benefit most from thousands of new jobs......after the deal NYC deal fell through.
We have a problem in America called spatial geographic inequality which means the most affluent and educated people are clustered in just a few cities, he said. He said there are two Americas .....states that historically vote Democratic vs ones that skew Republican.
We have orchestras and theaters districts and world-class shopping. We have Chef Wolfgang Puck, they have Chef Boyardee. The blue parts are having a big prosperity party while the big sea of red feels like their invitation got lost in the mail -- and they still use the mail.
The comedian went on to say. The fly-over states have become the passed-over states, thats why red state voters are so pissed off. They dont hate us, they want to be us.

A typical, clueless Coastal “Elite.” He is the type of dipstick who thinks that people in Flyover Country can barely afford duct tape to hold their rusted Pintos together. Bill, there are business owners in middle America who can buy and sell you with their pocket change, and they are good, honest folks. Middle America is filled with honest, decent, and hard-working Americans who can see through your BS with little effort.

Some of the dumbest people I have known have a PhD and couldn’t find their way out of a one door room.
Liberal’s disconnect with reality is absolutely amazing. They’re in their own world and there’s no bringing them back. Ever.
“$80 Broadway tickets? Where?”
Really. It costs me more than that to see a show in Raleigh.
Just speaking for myself. I am a Midwesterner. I like it in the Midwest. I’ve never seriously been interested in living anywhere else. When I have briefly considered someplace else, it’s always been part of the “flyover”: the South or the Rocky Mountain West. I like a coast, but it’s not one of Bill Maher’s coasts — it’s always the coast of the Carolinas.
Believe it or not, we do have educated people here: doctors, lawyers, engineers. We have some of the finest universities in the world. Ever heard of Purdue or the University of Illinois? I used to work for one of the premier medical diagnostics manufacturers in the world, right here in the flyover. But what exactly does “educated” mean? Does it mean spending four years having your head pumped full of garbage? I know people who are not educated by Bill Maher’s standards: people who are engaged in useful occupations. They build things. They make thinks. They fix things. They grow things. (Do you like to eat, Bill?) They run their own businesses. They put in long days behind the wheel of a truck moving stuff from coast to coast. (Do you getting your stuff, Bill?) They take care of children and old people. They make music and literature. Just like in the “civilized” world of Bill Maher. For the most part, they don’t want to be “you”, Bill. For most, that’s a revolting thought.
Now Bill could take me to task because I have lived in the Chicago area for 35 years. Yes, I have. But I am from southern Illinois, I have family there, and I still feel most at home there. Southern Illinois, Bill. Southern Illinois.
Before the crazy, shortsighted and greedy ‘adventure’ in off shoring, pushed on us by the right, red state Americans HAD economic power equal (or superior) to the city/coastal regions. Fly over country WAS prosperous, that is until the Bushies and globalists Free Traitors&$#153 sold out REAL America.
Why would I go see the orchestra at Red Rocks, Morrison, Co. when I can see Umphrees McGee at Red Rocks?! Seriously, I prefer Rock or Jam Bands. Orchestra music is just a little bit stuffed shirt.
“I dont think Ive EVER seen Maher on TV”
Now that you mention it I wouldn’t have a clue what show he might be on...
.
I really miss Johnny Carson.
Nope, Billy. We just want to be left alone by you people, but you always refuse. Fortunately, leftists keep reminding Americans how very arrogant they are, which helps expose them for what they really are.
Laughable. Obviously, Maher hasnt roamed too far away from his luxurious cave on the coast or he would know these cities with orchestra and theater districts, world class shopping are rampant with homelessness, poverty and filth, violent crime, and drugs. HIS mouth proves what a hypocrite, racist and bigot he really is, because you can be sure his theater districts and world class shopping are home to only white elitists.
Johnny Carson was worth staying up late to watch.
No, we actually DO hate you.
I don't hate them. I pity them.
Leftists tend to be angry and miserable.
There are many studies that confirm this. It is a consistent bias.
They tend toward hedonism, political power, and status grabbing as ways to find temporary surcease from their empty lives.
Those things are rather like drugs. They give a bit of relief, but it doesn't last and requires bigger, more powerful doses.
People who have God in their lives are happier.
I dont hate him, I also pity him.
It becomes more and more obvious that the lefties don't even regard the "minorities" they claim to love so much as even human, with ordinary human failings and ordinary human obligations. They were put here simply to "test" the redneck. While the Left fulminates against poor, ignorant rednecks the poverty and ignorance of the "minorities" isn't even an issue for them. All that matters is that the "minorities" somehow prove that rich white people are better than poor white people.
No, we actually DO hate you.
Ding ding ding - we have a thread winnah!
America is the land of opportunity. We may want to be more affluent. We may want to be more educated in the sense of being more knowledgeable. But we don’t want to be like him.
