Bill Maher derided Middle Americans in red states as envious of their blue-state counterparts.....Maher blamed Amazon's Bezos for pitting wealthy cities against one another in a battle over the next Amazon headquarters, while ignoring states that would benefit most from thousands of new jobs......after the deal NYC deal fell through.
“We have a problem in America called spatial geographic inequality which means the most affluent and educated people are clustered in just a few cities,” he said. He said there are “two Americas” .....states that historically vote Democratic vs ones that skew Republican.
“We have orchestras and theaters districts and world-class shopping. We have Chef Wolfgang Puck, they have Chef Boyardee. The blue parts are having a big prosperity party while the big sea of red feels like their invitation got lost in the mail -- and they still use the mail.”
The comedian went on to say. “The fly-over states have become the passed-over states, that’s why red state voters are so pissed off. They don’t hate us, they want to be us.”

I hate them like I hate snakes and creepy crawlies under rocks. They are repulsive and make my skin crawl. They think evil thoughts and yearn for power in order to place others under their boot. I do not keep company with them and in no way do I envy them or want to be them.
Maher thinks I want to be a wealthy socialist who wants to run the lives of most other poeple?
Well, the wealthy part would be good, but I despise the other aspects of the blue state elites.

Nope. I pity "gender-fluid" soy boys. No way in the world would I trade my life for a life on the the far left fringe. No way would I trade my large family for the smaller "carbon footprint" of a house full of cats but no love. [Note: I would also put my academic credentials up against any elitist who thinks the Ivy League and a list of degrees matter - even by their shallow and superficial standards, I win.]

He doesn't get that he's celebrating his own privileges and looking down on those who don't have them.
He also doesn't get that other people may not want what he thinks of as privileges.
