The number of states where liberals outnumber conservatives has dropped more than 30 percent, with just six now in that category: Massachusetts, Hawaii, Vermont, Washington, New York, and New Hampshire.
According to the latest Gallup survey, in every other state but California, where conservatives and liberals split 29 percent to 29 percent, conservatives lead.
Nationally, those who identify themselves conservative hold a nine-point lead.
Before conservatives start to cheer, Gallup said the gap used to be 21 points and a handful of the state numbers fall in the margin of error.
But the survey still shows a large swath of red and pink states bookended by the whole West Coast, New England, and the mid-Atlantic, including the Washington, D.C. area.
The residents of most U.S. states are more likely to identify as conservative than as liberal in their political ideology. In 25 states, the conservative advantage is significantly greater than the national average, including 19 highly conservative states in which conservatives outnumber liberals by at least 20 percentage points, said Gallup.

Something doesnt add up.
Good question. The traditional answer is that most Republicans identified as conservatives and most Democrats did not identify as liberals. There was some truth in that once, but not quite as much as people assumed:
And it's even less true now than it was earlier: conservative Democrats are a thing of the past and most Democrats identify as liberal.
It may have something to do with people who call themselves independents but really vote Democrat. Or it could be that all the little differences add up to a significant advantage for the Democrats.
But maybe the assumption is wrong. Democrats pick up votes in states like Virginia, New Hampshire, and Nevada, but lose them in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Minnesota.

The reason the Dems must import voters
If you believed the media, you’d think it was 99% vs. 1% (and that 1% needed to be in re-education camps).
One reason is that liberal is still a pejorative so many lie and call themselves moderate.
Plus the Dems have moved the Overton window so far left that liberals the past two years that a liberal just 10 years ago probably considers themselves to be moderate today.
I mean Bernie recently called his brand of socialism mainstream.
“The problem is conservative is a self definition. 10 people in the room, 10 definitions.”
This is the internet, I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to think past the headline of an article.
Freegards
However, as a voting base, those numbers don't account for liberals stealing elections. For example, we would still control Congress had the RATs not stolen many seats.
Until we address, and correct, that, it won't matter. And we'd better wake up before 2020.
With Texas being listed as only 20 percent liberal, it makes you wonder how Beto almost took it away from Cruz.
Too many tell the pollsters they are conservative but then vote for Democrats.
New Hampshire? My gosh...
the “turning purple” is probably the leading edge of the fraud vote-they then possibly try to underpin it with illegal immigration
California?
38 % moderate + 20% liberal = 58% liberal.
It’s a wonder Cruz won.
They usually scream the loudest right before you snuff them out with extreme prejudice.
Fewer and fewer numbers and louder and louder voices. Its like they have help or something.
In my day, Liberals loathed the Government. Now they embrace it being used to annihilate anyone who disagrees with them.
The trouble with these polls is that most liberals self identify themselves as moderates.
Liberals call themselves moderate or independent. My brother is to the left of Marx and claims to be independent.
Exactly.
In fact, the vast majority of people who call themselves moderates are really liberals who are too gutless to admit it, not only to a pollster but often to themselves as well. But look what happens when they are in the voting booth.

Here is the best definition of conservatism.
