Philadelphia Republican Party’s endorsed candidate for mayor, Daphne Goggins, suffers from anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, she told The Daily Caller News Foundation. Goggins, the first black female endorsed by the Philadelphia GOP, hasn’t held a paid job since 2010 and supports herself financially through federal disability benefits....Goggins said her mental illnesses materialized after she stopped snorting cocaine in 2005.

Not sure how this works in Philadelphia or with the GOP there and the article is not clear, but I would think that Daphne Goggins is not the only GOP endorsed candidate in Philly.

Drugs, lifelong welfare, a focus on her “diversity”, and mental illness - she sounds like a democrat.

>>hasn’t held a paid job since 2010 and supports herself financially through federal disability benefits.

Sorry, by definition SHE doesn’t ‘support herself financially’ - TAXPAYERS support her, along with the other 10’s of millions of people just like her who choose not to work.

This is an excerpt from an article in the Inquirer. City of Brotherly Love Freepers are invited to comment on this interesting situation:

Applause, raised voices, and shouts of “No!” could be heard during the hour-long, closed-door meeting in Kensington. And when it ended, Goggins was still the local party leaders’ pick for mayor.

“All families fight,” Goggins said after 29 ward leaders voted against reconsidering her nomination, 18 voted in favor of it, and four abstained. “We made up. It’s time for us to go out here and take it to these Democrats.”

First, Goggins will have to face Billy Ciancaglini, a Democrat-turned-Republican mayoral candidate who paced outside the meeting and left in disgust when he heard Goggins had retained the endorsement.

“I wish him well,” Goggins said of Ciancaglini, who still plans his own primary bid for the GOP nomination. “I just wish he would leave me alone, because I’m not his enemy.”

Ciancaglini last week questioned whether Goggins, a North Philadelphia ward leader who has been on federal disability payments since 2010, could handle the “rigors” of being mayor.

That prompted concerns in the party, and a call by Republican City Committee Chairman Michael Meehan on Friday for the meeting to reconsider the endorsement.

If recent acitivity by the Rs is taken into account, Giancaglini will be chastised and the party will ‘cut off his funding’ for ‘picking on’ a ‘sick woman’.

G hit the trifecta...She be Black, unstable and on public assistance, if she be a ‘L’ she would be a shoo in.

Either way, I will venture to say the Ds couldn’t have picked a better person to run against.

The Rs are trying to take a page from the D book...run someone so disgusting that she/he will run just to spite themselves and keep enough people home to ensure his/her defeat....only difference is the Rs won’t bus in enough outsiders to pick up the voters who sit at home and won’t be ‘counting’ the votes...

Designated loser. OR Pandering to blacks as she is “one of them”. Delaware GOP is just as useless. Their candidates have unpronounceable names or are laughable. And yes, even call one a witch.

Those GOP party ruling hacks sure pick some winners.

But on the other hand, she probably wouldn’t be any worse than McCain, Flake and Romney.

She’s actually a huge Trump supporter, calls herself a MAGA candidate. Optics may be bad but converting supporters however we can is a good thing.

Call me a skeptic. I converse with this lady a few times a week. Been A FB friend for over a year. I find this difficult to believe. Wondering if this is a hit piece to stop her. She is and has been a conservative and full blown trump supporter.
