With two of the premiere college basketball teams right down the road from each other, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski says the rivalry has been a privilege to be a part of.
"The programs have produced championships and excellence and pros," said Krzyzewski. "So to be a part of that as a player or a coach, you should be honored."
North Carolina leads the all-time series against Duke, but the Blue Devils hold the 54-48 edge when playing at home.
And when the game's at Cameron, the stars come out. The latest rumor is that Former President Barack Obama will be in attendance.

“This is equivalent to the Army-Navy game.”
Not trying to be disrespectful, but this is way more than Army-Navy game. Year in / year out dook and Carolina are top 10 teams (dook #1 this year). And they are separated by only 8 miles between campuses. This is not just a rivalry, this is blood sport - see Tyler Hansbrough, Eric Montross, Raymond Felton, Larry Brown, et al. Go Heels!
Yep. Williamson is probably the best college basketball player in the country. Carolina will have a very hard time defending him.
I was fortunate enough to see a Carolina/Dook game at Cameron once back in 2009. Pretty crazy.
Currently living in Chapel Hill (about a mile down the road from the Dean Dome) and working on a project down 15-501 at Duke Hospital. The office is pretty much split between Light Blue and Dark Blue with a good dose of red thrown in (as most offices are in these parts).
I will walk on over to the bar for Carolina/Dook Part I when I get home this evening. It will be crowded yet again. Problem is I may have to get over there even earlier to get a seat because State is playing on TV at 7:00. UNC/Dook Part II will be a week from this Saturday in Chapel Hill.
If you are a college sports fan, this is definitely the place to be. But as a Carolina fan, I’m thinking it’s not going to be terribly pretty tonight...
My apologies, Carolina/Dook Part II will be the last regular season ACC game on March 9th.

Yawn. Wake me up when the tournament starts.
That’s the problem with having such a large tournament field, regular season games really don’t matter all that much.
As a Carolina fan, I fear you are right. Duke is mighty good this year.
What was the game of the year?
UVa at Duke. (I was there!) Duke was #1 in the AP (writers) poll and UVa was #1 in the USA Today (coaches) poll.

Oh, yes, that was a great game.
I’ll pass on watching the UNCheats and the Duke Academy of Floppers. The only thing more corrupt than UNCheats/Duke Floppers and the NCAA is the FBI/DOJ/IRS.

Must be an NC State fan.
Can I borrow this?
Actually a UK fan, but please defend the three decades of academic fraud if you can?
You are most welcome to use it as needed. I wish they would start calling fouls on this garbage. I watched UK and Mizzou last night and two Mizzou players bumped and both flopped thinking they had hit a UK defender, it was hilarious!
How did your time in Chapel Hill go tonight? TV stations here are showing a humongous crowd on Franklin Street.
Yahoo! It was a great game for Tar Heel fans....and I say Obummer was there as a JINX.....and, of course, it didn’t hurt that Williamson got hurt early on.
But Maye and Johnson each had an awesome game for the Tar Heels!
Way to go, Carolina!!
Had a fun time! Haha, but stayed far away from Franklin Street. Our little bar was SRO and got quite loud. Sorry to see the big kid from Duke go down like that but they sure did struggle without him. Also couldn’t believe the poor 3-point shooting on both sides. But it was nice to see Carolina had an answer each time Duke scored and Luke Maye was like a kid in a candy store with Zion out. Good for him.
The NBA is now going to the Euro Leagues for talent. Luka Doncic was the player of the year with Real Madrid at the age of 18.
I suspect now more young players may choose to go to Europe in lieu of playing College ball.
