Former top FBI lawyer: 2 Trump cabinet officials were ‘ready to support’ 25th Amendment effort
fox news ^ | 2/17/2019 | Catherine Herridge

Former top FBI lawyer James Baker, in closed-door testimony to Congress, detailed alleged discussions among senior officials at the Justice Department about invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office, claiming he was told Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said two Trump Cabinet officials were “ready to support” such an effort.

The testimony was delivered last fall to the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees. Fox News has confirmed portions of the transcript. It provides additional insight into discussions that have returned to the spotlight in Washington as fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe revisits the matter during interviews promoting his forthcoming book.

Baker did not identify the two Cabinet officials. But in his testimony, the lawyer said McCabe and FBI lawyer Lisa Page came to him to relay their conversations with Rosenstein, including discussions of the 25th Amendment.

“I was being told by some combination of Andy McCabe and Lisa Page, that, in a conversation with the Deputy Attorney General, he had stated that he -- this was what was related to me -- that he had at least two members of the president’s Cabinet who were ready to support, I guess you would call it, an action under the 25th Amendment,” Baker told the committees.

The 25th Amendment provides a mechanism for removing a sitting president from office. One way that could happen is if a majority of the president’s Cabinet says the president is incapable of discharging his duties.

Is Chief Of Staff officially a Cabinet position? Does COS need to be confirmed? Whether Cabinet or not, you just have to know he was there as saboteur, being Ryan’s best friend since elementary school.

I”m going with Tillerson and Sessions.

McMaster was not a Cabinet official.

I am sure he was in on it.

Session was one of the lone voices against H-1B. No way he is a Bush hack.

“..he was told...”
Well I guess that settles it

You think that den of snakes were too loyal and honorable to try such a thing?

Even Rosenstein admitted he mentioned wearing a wire, he just said it was a joke. What would be the context of making such a joke? Ever.

Now, if you believe he was joking, there are bridges for sell in the Arizona desert.

I saw McMaster give a speech in 2015 about his philosophy and the books he had written. I walked out wondering if he was a globalist before he was an American.

Do I think he’s joking?
Hell no & then some :)

Loyalty? Them? LMAO!

I simply need more details for context

Did Baker testify to entire truth & other details not public (yet) or did he testify to partial truth-throwing McCabe & Page under bus to save his own skin?

IOW-good info, but not enough. Now that (undisputed) discussion of 25th is public, the parties involved are in CYA mode. Where does the truth lie?

Should add....unless someone drops a political bomb, there will be endless Senate Hearings (forget the House), we will be lucky to know the truth in our lifetimes

Baker claims he was told by McCabe. I think this all goes back to McCabe, who manufactures facts to suit. This smells like the story that Trump's jest about Russia finding Hillary's email was actually a serious overture by Trump and solid evidence of Trump colluding with the Russians.

Amazing how much effort and mental investment is being put into identifying, as though the accusation is accurate, "who are the 2 cabinet members?"

Trump seems to have one evident Achilles heal...selection of trusted personnel. Too many of his choices have really turned out to be poor decisions...starting with FORMER Attorney General Sessions. I’ll also always wonder why he doesn’t pull the trigger on the democrats... he has access to the info, why does he hold back?

I could believe this but it’s just as easily disinformation to sew discord. But we all know Trump had leakers in his staff.

In many countries these people would face a firing squad.

That's why we had "rendition." But, these guys are too high profile for that.

I am certain this is true.

And the problem this presents, of course, is that no bureaucrat would dare, not for a second, to be whipping votes in the cabinet without at least having feelers out to the Vice President.

By virtue of Sessions’ actions and non-actions, there is no doubt he was a puppet of Deep State traitors.

Even Ray Charles could see that...and he’s blind and dead.

Great, 'felt for one wee little thing.

The coup didn't actually come off, did it?

Remember when then-candidate Trump said during the campaign, that his headquarters were being wiretapped and he moved from Trump Towers to one of his golf resorts or something? To the loud moist snorts of derision from all right-thinking people?

How did he know? Flynn, right?

Hence McCabe's infamous "First we F Flynn, then we F Trump." They thought Flynn was a rogue, one-off, turncoat against them Trump's guard dog, and hence, that once they'd got rid of him, Trump would be defenseless, without any way to get info about them in real time.

But what if Trump had other assets and capabilities all along, fiercely loyal and out of reach of the autofellatory State and DOJ and CUA crowd?

So that the dribs and drabs and rumors, do not represent "cutting edge thinking/educated guesses" of Trump's supporters desperately trying to stay ahead of the Hillary/Omoeba clans, but are after-battle gossipbwhich leaked out to the press?

If so, this whole thing takes on a whole new light. Including the backstabbing of Paul Ryno and the Senate vermin like Shelby.
