President Trump will take dramatic actions to fund his long-promised border wall and declare a national emergency, which will enable his administration to move $8 billion from various federal agencies to fund the project, a senior administration official told Fox News late Thursday.
The news comes as Trump is expected to sign a House border security package that provides $1.4 billion for the project, which is far below the $5.7 billion Trump insisted he needed and would finance just a quarter of the 200-plus miles he wanted.
Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary, said earlier today that Trump will sign the spending bill and declare a national emergency at the same time tomorrow morning.
The White House said hed sign the legislation but act unilaterally to get more, prompting condemnations from Democrats and threats of lawsuits from states and others who might lose federal money or said Trump was abusing his authority.

Exactly. Even more stupid to do.
The President is being trashed by reporters right now, he is holding his own but the disrespect these clowns show is unbearable.
No he should just ignore them. They have no legal Authority in this issue and his advisors/controllers should know that even if freepers don't.
I have never though the wall will solve the immigration problem because there are many avenues into this country. What happens to them after they get here is the problem. Most children born here last year are anchor babies how do we survive that? They do not grow up and vote Republican.
I purposely turned all news from cable or network off 4 days before the election and waited to hear if the Country had voted to survive or commit suicide. Suicide it was because either the Democrats figured out a way to steal the election or we had truly became a Socialist majority Country, neither of which can be overcome with ballots.
It is not so much what they are funding it is the poison pills that the bill is replete with.
Last week Mitch was saying he would fight a National Emergency declaration. Now hes on board. Perhaps Trump has to cut a deal.
If a bill passes by about 85%, its veto-proof.
Do you want to elaborate with Specifics?
Yep, but they promised to fund the wall after the mid-terms right? Mitch said from the beginning that The President would not build the wall, most here forget that he said that. Most don't remember when Mitch said they must marginalize the Tea Party before they get her, but he did.
I hoped that some of the more aggressive congressmen would fight the speaker but none of them would challenge Ryan's leadership even though any one of them could have. Promises, promises, so many of them, no deeds, always more promises.
My dad did his fighter pilot service under Ike and Kennedy
We had a Goldwater yard sign in 1964
He carried my state like all the Deep South
Plus AZ
85% of the Senate voted for this. It takes 65% to override a veto.
In the House, 300 people voted for it. Once again, its a number that assures his veto would be overridden.
Its pointless to veto.
I remember this meme after Goldwater was defeated. They said if I voted for Goldwater, the war in Vietnam would get worse, and sure enough it did.
Who is harmed by a border wall? Congress? How?
Are Democrat Representatives going to argue that they are harmed by the President exercising the power that Congress delegated to him?
Are border state governors going to argue that they are harmed by the stoppage of the flow of drugs and illegal aliens into their states?
Or are they going to fall on the reliable argument that butterflies and frogs are harmed by the wall because frogs can't get to the water and butterflies can't fly over the wall, even thought any one frog or butterfly has a lifespan of weeks anyway?

All of the people on this and other threads who are so unhappy with this law that they are ready to give up and are condemning Trump are missing the big point:
The Perfect is the enemy of the Good.
Stated in nearly that exact form by no less than General George S. Patton, Jr.
Ronaldus Maximus advised people involved in politics that you NEVER get everything you want, not even close, so that if you get something you should take it and run. Later, you come back for more. If any of you would think about it, that is EXACTLY how our political enemies have come so close to wrecking our Republic...so why wouldn’t we use the same tactics (which are CLEARLY effective) against our enemies?
Besides, I think that Trump will win handily in 2020. Why?
1) Alexandria Occasional Cortex;
2) That Jew-hating Moslem bitch from Minnesota
3) Green New Deal
4) Chasing 25,000 jobs from NYC, gleefully
5) Abortion on demand, even AFTER a child is born
6) Nazi Pelosi and Chuck Schumer
7) The clown show that is the Dem Presidential contest.
So, folks, when Trump landslides the Leftist filth, he’ll bring back control of the House and they will HAVE to fully fund whatever hasn’t been built yet, because they will owe him.
But go ahead, vote for Lieawatha, Spartacus, the fake Hispanic Beta Male or Cameltoe Harris, fluffer to California pols - any of them would be better than Trump, right?
the poison pills are only in effect for seven months
I understood the bill to give President Trump $1.375 billion for the wall, but then there are all the poison-pill provisions to prevent him from spending it: can't spend it until September, can't spend it in parks, can't spend it without small-town mayor approval... Then after September when this bill expires, Trump has to start all over again with the next budget bill where Democrats may try to rescind this $1.375 billion of spending.
Furthermore, Democrats added deportation protections to anyone who is a "potential sponsor" of unaccompanied minors? Who isn't a "potential" sponsor?
So, I'd like to see from someone a list of what the "good" is that makes the "perfect" the enemy of it.

Why post such misinformation? The only element that appears to have a time limit on it like that is that no border wall construction, with funds from the bill or otherwise, are supposed to be applied toward building a wall while the corrupt local liberal pols are holding up approvals in their corridor.
The rest of the stuff? All the amnesties, etc., are permanent. And, likely even just the language around that delay in construction is what will be used to squash Trump’s claim of an emergency anyway.
No they aren’t. It is in an appropriations bill that is only for seven months.
The amnesties are not for 7 months. Jeesh!
Personally, knowing what I know about not only the poison pills but the usual outrageous spending that they added to this thing, I would veto it. However, neither you nor I know what Trump and his advisors know about it - and Trump knows that he MUST make progress on this issue or lose the 2020 election. IOW, he will FAIL - and DJT just doesn’t see himself as a failure at anything. I trust that he knows how he’s going to (or already has) outsmart the Dems, given that he’s been outsmarting opponents for about the last 45 years.
As far as spending only in September, don’t you think that building can start sooner, with a previously worked-out contract ready to be signed, and payments made, on 9/1/19? Seriously, we’re not dealing with a guy in the White House who is a novice at getting very complex deals done on time, if not ahead of schedule.
