Chicago police on Thursday say they "have no evidence" to support reports they are investigating whether actor Jussie Smollett fabricated the story about his alleged assault in Chicago last month. Chicago police spokesman said reports the attack was a hoax are "unconfirmed by case detectives" following multiple reports by Chicago news media.
"Media reports anout the Empire incident being a hoax are unconfirmed by case detectives. Supt Eddie Johnson has contacted @ABC7Chicago to state on the record that we have no evidence to support their reporting and their supposed CPD sources are uninformed and inaccurate," police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted Thursday night.

Rahm’s brother Ari Emanuel is a big time Hollywood agent. Hollywood is pouring millions $$ into the Chicago Mayors campaign. Rahm is trying to keep Hollywood happy - he will do anything to defend Jussie.

Don’t know. When the jilted and physically abused (and subsequently murdered) boyfriend of one of the guys in the Lawrence v. Texas case made that 911 call one night all those years ago, he ended up in jail for several weeks for making a false call.

Smollett this week turned over "heavily redacted" phone records from the night of the alleged attack. Guglielmi said the submitted documents did not meet the burden of a criminal investigation.
Investigators already received Smollett's complete phone records via a subpoena served on his service provider, according to a source.
