Eighty per cent of Vatican priests are gay and living in the closet, according to an explosive new book to be published next week. The 570-page expose, titled In the Closet of the Vatican, claims that four in five clerics in the Roman Catholic Church are homosexuals - but aren't necessarily sexually active. French sociologist and journalist Frederic Martel, who spent four years conducting 1,500 interviews for the book, found that some priests maintained discreet long term relationships, while others lived double lives having casual sex with gay partners and using male prostitutes.

DC not the only swamp needs draining.
For those who say marriage for priests would add to the non-deviant non-pedophile numbers——
Cartoon showing 2 priests walking.
1st priest: Do you think marriage for priests will become accepted by the Church hierarchy?
2nd priest: Not in our time but in our children’s time.
What do they mean by “in the closet”? Are they afflicted with homosexual desires but true to their vow of celibacy, or are they acting upon their perverted desires but hiding it?
One deserves our respect and prayers; the others must be removed and are in desperate need of prayers.
Explains why they only grudgingly allowed a limited amount of girls to fill in the role of altar boys.
As opposed to the Episcopal church, whose 80% are all out of the closet already....
My mom used to have conversations with nuns that would curl your toenails. It seems those who don’t have sex are the ones who are completely obsessed with it.
One of them wanted to buy 18 copies of The Joy of Sex for her health class at a Catholic high school. I kid you not.
My mom ended up concluding that a lifetime of celibacy does really bad things to the female brain.
If they aren’t having sex or if they have sworn off it for the desire to pursue Christ or just out of obedience to Scripture, should they count as “gay”? I don’t believe so. Therefore, I don’t trust the numbers.
I do believe a higher number of Catholic Clergy are gay, up to an including Pope Francis, but I don’t want to smear all of them just as all of them are not pedophiles (which is worse). The problem is pride and the unwillingness to confess the sin in their lives and repent from it.
There’s a good movie called “Spotlight” that was a quasi documentary about this subject. The numbers they presented concerning catholic priests in Boston were similar.
They arent necessarily sexual active
Whew I was worried for a sec
This is Satans handiwork
Just got through watching it. Good movie. Chilling.
That reassuring...I thought the percentage would have been higher.
IF by "gay" you simply mean "male attracted to males."
I'm fairly sure there are lifelong-celibate gays who have passed safely through this veil of tears and are now rejoicing with the Blessed before the throne of God.
Of course, if by "gay" you mean "engages in sexual relations with persons of the same sex", then of course "celibate gay" an oxymoron in a tutu and a spangly tiara.
How about life long celibate pedophiles? Are they rejoicing too?
Maybe because of their hostility toward tradition in general? Or part of this thing about genderfluid sex roles?
Temptation afflicts everybody. For instance, a married man's secret attraction to a random woman. However, if it is not a deliberate fantasy, a plan, or an act, it is not a sin.
If there's consent, there's sin. Jesus told his (male) disciples that to even look at a woman to lust fter her, is a sin. I'm tellin' it straight.
There are other kinds of disordered desire. Like for alcohol. Opiates. Personal dominance. Money, power, and status.
The Gospels warn an awful lot about that.
If freedom from every trace of concupiscence (disordered desire) is needed to be saved, brother, we're doomed.
Which explains the rampant boy abuse.

In the parish, two out of five are gay.
In the Vatican, 4 out of five are gay.
It’s only logical if you think about it, really.
