But first, let’s replace the vacuum in OC’s head with a brain.

Markey is a fool for getting involved on a bill with AOC.

What is it with Leftists and rail travel? I think part of it is that if they control your movements, they can control you.

The full system would not begin operating until 2033.They must have put pentagon acquisition experts on this project.

As much as I hate air travel, it would still have one huge advantage over high-speed rail even if the travel times between the trip ends were comparable:
An airplane travels in "free" space and does not require a right-of-way along its route.
As the population of a region grows, the cost of acquiring real estate for a rail corridor is what makes a high-speed rail project prohibitively expensive.

And how much would it cost to build a complete high speed network of rails? Guessing that you can’t use your typical rail for this. Also, would this be a passenger exclusive system or would it haul cargo? That overnight Fed Ex package probably rides in the cargo bay of an airplane.

No one will be able to travel without a good, Fedgov-approved reason. Except Democrats and those that finance them, of course.
If you donate to The right Dems, or give them a kid to use as a sex toy, you could be allowed to have a travel permit, though.

Well, the trains shouldn’t need much energy going south. It’s the trip north that eats up most of the energy.
