Last week, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam was hit with a shocking blast from the past: a photo on his medical school yearbook page of a man in blackface and another man in a Ku Klux Klan outfit. Northam quickly apologized for the photo, then said he wasn't in the photo and then admitted he had once worn blackface and dressed up as Michael Jackson for a dance contest. He nearly moonwalked at a press conference before his wife gave him a look that could curdle milk.
For this sin -- the sin of an old, disgusting, racially insensitive photo -- Northam now finds his political career on the skids. As of this writing, he's hanging on by his fingernails, even as his lieutenant governor struggles with dicey sexual assault allegations.
The same week that Northam found himself in hot water, he endorsed a Virginia bill that would have broadened the ability of women to obtain an abortion up to the point of birth. Virginia Delegate Kathy Tran, a sponsor of the bill, stated in defense of her legislation that women would be able to obtain an abortion during labor. Northam then defended the bill, adding that if a baby were born alive during such an abortion -- he assumed that the abortion would be due to "severe deformities" or "a fetus that's not viable" -- then the baby could be "kept comfortable" while the family and the doctor decide its fate.
Even in the least appalling reading of his comments, Northam clearly endorsed infanticide. The only question is whether he endorsed the murder of fully born children.
Yet these comments did not merit his ouster. In fact, they didn't even merit an argument inside the Democratic Party about the extremism of the pro-choice position. Last month, Democrats in the state of New York cheered wildly for a law that opened the floodgates to third-trimester abortion, with Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordering state sites to be illuminated in pink in celebration of the potential murder of the unborn. The Democratic governor of Rhode Island endorsed a similar bill; Democrats in Vermont attempted to pass an even more extreme bill that would enshrine abortion as a "fundamental right" for the entirety of the pregnancy period.
All of this is apparently less controversial than a three-decades-old photograph showing a medical student in blackface. Endorsing the killing of babies during dilation today -- not 30 years ago, not 30 weeks ago -- is considered less of a faux pas than racially offensive idiocy during the Reagan presidency.
The morality of our nation may be skewed beyond repair. Northam certainly deserves criticism for his yearbook stupidities, and for his even more idiotic response. But if the American people are more consumed with the consequences of insulting costumes from 1984 than the murder of the unborn today, we deserve everything we have coming to us.
[ Baby Killing Is Fine. Yearbook Photos Are the Problem ]
That’s for sure.
I’m thinking that the person who released the photo sat on it until recently because he thought that no ones life should be blown up by a 35 year old mistake. But once Northam endorsed infanticide he changed his mind. In other words, the prevailing theory that the photo was released to distract from infanticide is wrong. It was released because of infanticide.
Exactly; Shapiro nails it, as usual.
You are missing a critical point:
I could release recent footage of, e.g., Hillary with her face all black with burnt cork, crying "I don't know nothing' about birthin' no babies, Miz Scawlett!" for any number of different reasons - but the Mainstream Media wouldn't make a big to-do about it.
The question is not, "Why was it released?" (that question deals only with the motivations of a lone individual) but rather, "Why have the MM flooded the airwaves with it?"
Regards,
The open and willful killing of babies is the flash point of the next civil war.
Last night, the baby killers in white solidified in my mind how free women will murder their way to the top and that the woman is responsible for the murder of their child in utero as much as the doctor who performs the murder.
It is as simple as that, folks.

They know what's coming next.....and so do we.
Nobelists Crick left, and Watson --- discoverers of the double helix.
It was Dr Crick who suggested that newborn babies NOT be issued birth certificates
until three days after birth ...........until they have passed a "quality evaluation test."
NOTE WELl: No mention of abortion----this is flat-out infanticide.
Bingo! The Dems are using the #MeToo meme to pull Northam off the stage so his sociopathic theme of “It’s OK to kill babies” gets less air time. But this is running afoul of the LT Governor’s problem with unwanted sexual advances of 2004. So, the WaPo, as the supposed arbitrator of all truth is busy saying “Nothing to see here.”

The mask hiding the Lefts genocidal rage slipped during the print/electronic lynching of Covington Catholic’s high school boys.
And it was frightening.
Lefty lynch mobs called for assorted horrors even the KKK could not envision:
<><> feeding teenage boys head-first into wood chippers,
<><> locking the boys into the school and burning the school to the ground.
The obedient media (print, broadcast, social) unwittingly exposed the wrath of the Left’s Orwellian hate days after the factual record was corrected.
SHOULD BE NOTED: The Left’s Grand Wizards waged their knee-jerk War of Hate without the familiar white hoods and capes.
“The question is not, “Why was it released?” (that question deals only with the motivations of a lone individual) but rather, “Why have the MM flooded the airwaves with it?””
Very good point. It isn’t a nutcase conspiracy theory that journalists have coordinated with, and conspired with, the Democrats. There was the Journal-list (however it was spelled) website, the debate questions released ahead of time to Hillary and the coordinated talking points when every major media outlet uses the exact same phrasing on some political point. People won’t pay for propaganda, as evidenced by the firing of over 2000 “journalists” this week. (As if someone with a degree in gender studies who writes feature articles on her vagina can be considered a “journalist.”)

No big deal, the babies will just be “released to elsewhere.” /sarc
I think in 10 years, the outrage will be the guys who wore a female outfit as a joke in a fraternity skit, sports arena or Halloween party. Dont run for office if you did any of these things in the future.
The flap over the photo is fake. It was concocted as a distraction from the governor’s proposal to allow baby killing.
The dems want to get rid of him because a future Republican opponent can use the baby killing episode against him.
Dems = party of death.
Yep! Heck, the murdering of unborn and partially born babies is a mark of honor among Democrats. They are not ashamed of it. They do not deny it. They proudly embrace it.
The man is not only a governor, he is a physician
How can he possibly justify his statement with his Hippocratic oath?
I know.
