Reflecting America’s low white birthrate and how statists manage to import voters via immigration, whites’ percentage of the electorate is consistently shrinking while blacks’, Hispanics’, and Asians’ share is growing. In fact, the latest projections show that whites will constitute a historic low of only 66.7 percent of 2020-election voters, despite their traditionally being more likely to cast ballots than other groups. Another historic first is that Hispanics will outnumber blacks among voters, albeit by a tiny margin, according to the Pew Research Center.
As the Washington Examiner reports:
In a major shift that appears to help Democrats and liberals, one-third of the eligible voters in the upcoming 2020 presidential election will be non-white, the first time ever, according to a new analysis of U.S. Census data.
… The growth of non-white voters, which Pew said favored Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2016 election, comes at the expense of the white vote.
Pew said that the white vote will total 66.7 percent in 2020, down from 76.4 in 2000.
Hispanics should constitute 13.3 percent of the voters, 30 million in raw numbers, while blacks’ projected 30 million number should put them at 12.5 percent of the electorate.
“This change reflects the gradual but continuous growth in the Hispanic share of eligible voters, up from 9 percent in the 2008 presidential election and 7 percent in the 2000 election,” Pew tells us.
Pew also reports that this “increase is at least partially linked to immigration and naturalization patterns: One-in-ten eligible voters in the 2020 election will have been born outside the U.S., the highest share since at least 1970.”

Hispanics routinely vote Democrat by double digit margins in Texas. I admit I haven’t seen the breakdown for the 2018 Governor and Senate races, but O’Rourke surely.beat Cruz with Hispanics by a large margin. I’d bet Abbott did better than Cruz but was still under 50%
Republicans do better with Hispanics in Texas than they do in most other states, but that’s not much to brag about. The loathsome Beto proved that Texas is within reach for Democrats, and the Hispanic vote is a big reason why that is so. There is no reason to think the GOP can consistently do much better than 40% of the Latino vote in Texas, and 40%is probably being optimistic.
That’s all true, but Democrats have gained millions of new voters via mass legal immigration. The pro-Democrat demographic and political impact of legal immigration (resulting mostly from bad 1965 & 1990 immigration reform laws) is larger than that of illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is just icing on the cake
That’s why President Trump’s ad-lib tonight about admitting legal immigrants in the largest numbers ever is especially terrible. We can hope it was just Trump being careless in the moment and not reflective of an insane desire to increase upon the already excessive levels of Democrat-importing legal immigration we allow.
DeSantis did NOT win a majority of the Hispanic vote. He won 44% of it. This is higher than most any other Republican, but it could be because he was running against a black guy. Many Hispanics do not like blacks.

Florida Cubans vote 65% Republican.
Florida Cubans are the only immigrant group in America that vote Republican.
New York and New Jersey Cubans - who are “Second Wave” Cubans - vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.

Conservatives won the immigration argument, but we lost the War.
The headline is misleading. White voters are not dying off. We actually have slightly more than a 1:1 birth/death ratio.
Massive LEGAL immigration has permanently changed the electoral equation.
New immigrant citizens (about 750,000 per year) vote 80% Democrat, and their USA born children vote 70%-75% Democrat.
After two years with Trump, nothing has changed. In the November 2018 election, 70% of Hispanics voted for a Democrat Congressman.
The traditionally Republican-voting Cubans in Florida are being overtaken by an influx of Democrat-voting Puerto Ricans.
