He apologized for the picture appearing on his page, calling the image "offensive" and "racist," but said that he had nothing to do with the preparation of the yearbook, nor did he buy it.
He said that while he did not attend that party where the picture was taken, he did attend another party the same year in which he said he "darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume."
He also said that he did not expect Virginians to believe him immediately or to forgive his actions right away: "I am just asking for that ability to demonstrate that the person I was is not the man I am today.

She used to be a producer for Bill O’Reilly, and they’d have her in an on-air segment with him every week or so. Leftist as could be, but she used to keep BOR a little grounded. After she left was when he became totally unwatchable for me, maybe 15 years ago.
The fact that the GOP had to know of this black face photo in the election is pretty pathetic.
Definitely not the most convincing apology I have ever seen. You can do better @GovernorVA.

Great Questions!
LIAR!!!
Re the photo: Post of the day.
I have heard of politicians ‘walking something back’ many times, but Northam is the first to Moon Walk something back.
It doesn’t matter if that was him in the famous photo. It does matter that he is willing to lie about it. Moreover, it matters tremendously that he is willing to commit infanticide as he recently admitted.
The sad thing is that this guy has made it a point throughout his campaign and even today how much he is guided by the VMI honor code. Maybe back in the day it meant something to him, but it sure doesn’t look that way today. “A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do.
Lol
Slick willy and Shrillary did it. Didn’t seem to hurt them at all.
His comments included: "The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable." "Kept comfortable" in relation to end of life care for a person who is near death and in great pain usually means administration of pain killing medicines which have a side effect of sedation. Sedation is not what should be done to a baby who has just been born.
Note the DEM doctor's use of the words "infant" and "delivered." The Dem-loving media had to get Northam's words on infanticide out of the news. Thus the almost immediate appearance of a decades-old yearbook picture that many people had to have been aware of for a long time.
It's all Kabuki theatre outrage by Dems to get his comments about infanticide out of the press. CNN already had commentary on Northam in which they "accidently" identified him as (R), just long enough to be screen-captured and on the internet forever.
“He responding as if he never saw this yearbook page until this week!”
I do believe that is basically what he said. I know I at least heard him say he never “bought” a copy. (could be someone gave him a free copy)
definitely for extreme left Dems, but infanticide was probably not polling well with most Americans.
and the propaganda media will stick up for them when it suits them. This time, its outrage over the blackface is to get Northam's cold-blooded comments about infanticide out of the news. Even if he meant the steps for the "infant" were for only babies born with the most severe impairments, such as not having a brain stem, the bill under consideration in Virginia and passed in New York State would have made it legal for a pregnant woman with a fully formed, healthy 9 month baby. Even with a baby destined to live only a few hours, after many months of pregnancy, just let the mother hold the baby until the baby passes.
Ed Gillespie must have run a terrible campaign. I read that the yearbooks from that medical school are online and anyone can see them.
Ed Gillespie also had the most evil, nasty smear ad run against him. I only saw it yesterday. It was completely untrue, based on no facts, but only on prejudiced attacks.
What a complete idiot!
This story was circulating before the election last year. Dan Bongino said he received it last October but sat on it because he couldnt verify it was Northam. I imagine a lot of ppl also received the info but chose not to pursue the story.
However, it was on his page, which you often have to buy (my daughters high school did the same thing). You put things to make yourself look awesome or funny, etc. Why would anyone in their right mind think a pic of themselves in blackface or a Klan outfit would be a flattering image? Why would the school allow such an offensive picture to be published?
I was in my early 30s in 1984, living in California, and it would never have occurred to me to dress like that for a party, even on Halloween! And as a reminder for the younger members on here, in 1984 you took your roll of film to the drugstore to be developed & then you had the original photo. No one got this pic from the internet & inserted it into the book at that time as a prank. Someone actually put on these outfits to amuse ppl.
I dont want him to step down though. I want him to stay right where he is...as a reminder of the hypocrisy & bigotry that the left represents.

And, the insensitive idiot added that he was great and did a fine moon-walk.
Northam needs a shrink.
