The “persons of interest” were two people seen in the general area. In the video you can’t see what they are. Presumably they are men.
But he isn't cooperating so they could just go around him to see if his story checks out. It may not be as thorough as going through the actual phone but if hid phone records don't match his story he'll have some explaining to do.

I am also curious about the temperature and wind chill at 2 AM on Tuesday morning, when Smollett was out casually strolling the streets of Chicago by himself.
Just 24 hours later, Chicago was experiencing record low temps and wind chill.
Geez...Not sure where this supposed event occurred in Chicago, but as a Chicagoland native, I can assure everyone, sadly that there is no MAGA country in Chicago or Cook County :(
Oh and of course, no one saw incident...because it was MINUS TWENTY DEGREES BELOW ZERO ON TUES...Streets were pretty much empty as most smart people were not outside...
Now there is a report that they supposedly were not even there at the same time as Jussi Smollett, and were walking away from the area before the supposed attack.

A consideration regarding the “potential persons of interest” being sought by police in connection with reported hate crime incident in Streeterville: The men are walking *away* from the attack scene 15-30 minutes *before* the incident, per police timing of events.
And those two people were just passing each other while walking in opposite directions on the sidewalk. The one near the curb was walking away and the other one near the building was walking toward the camera.
Kind of funny how this story keeps popping up while others claim he “is cooperating with police”...
The deviants don’t care. Their concocted victim show is more important.
Check out the story of Charlie Rogers in Nebraska 5 or 6 years ago. She faked an elaborate “hate crime” home intrusion and attack and then led a large team of investigators, including FBI personnel, on a wild goose chase only to find out that she had staged it all. Probably cost over a hundred thousand dollars in resources, but she got a virtual slap on the wrist for a sentence (although she failed to comply with terms of her probation and then skipped out on her jail-sentencing.)
So does he want to find out who did this to him or not? If not, why talk about it on social media.

I think his comments were a deliberate attempt to put this scam under a microscope.
I had looked the temperature up last night and it was 8-9 F around 2 AM that morning. I don’t think wind chill was mentioned.
