House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Thursday blasted Speaker Nancy Pelosi for canceling a Friday session of Congress and giving members a “three-day weekend,” after yet another failed attempt on Capitol Hill to pass bipartisan legislation to re-open the government amid the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
Friday will mark the 35th day of the partial government shutdown and the second missed paycheck for more than 800,000 federal workers and contractors working, or furloughed, without pay
“People are going into their second week of not getting their paycheck,” McCarthy said on Fox News' “The Daily Briefing” on Thursday. “Speaker Pelosi just gave the members of Congress a three-day weekend and canceled Friday, instead of staying here and solving the problem.”
McCarthy, instead, said he was “asking that all leaders come together” on Friday and “not leave” until they reach a bipartisan agreement on a spending package to re-open the government.

The GOP reps need to get in front of every camera they can find, to be sure some of the low info types hear this news about Nancy giving them a 3 day weekend. I assume they were off on Monday for MLK day, and probably could barely work on Tuesday, because maybe it was going to snow in DC.
Absolutely right...Even when she’s in town she ignores POTUS and genuinely trying to solve the problem.
Republicans had the whole show for full two years and didn’t do a goddamned thing.

The GOP leadership (Ryan, McCarthy, never-Trumpers)
was preoccupied with their hatred of Donald Trump and
actually turned the chamber over to the Democrats
(which I thought they would). Now they can oppose Trump
from the sidelines without being in the spotlight.
These are damn near the first words we’ve heard from this p*ssy scum bucket in 34 days.
He should be on the street going toe to toe with Pelosi. New, twitter, op-eds, rallies.
And speeches on the floor.
But being from the county that employs the highest percentage of illegals in the nation, his constituency is entirely against the wall.

Couldn’t agree more. They started out as average little people representing us all, now they’re the elite looking down at the little people.
They passed elite and moved onto royalty it seems.
And if we found out everything that was going on there, including the pedophilia, we’d probably think they moved on to dictators shielded from the law.
