Users of Microsoft's internet browser Edge are being met with a message not to trust the Daily Mail's journalism as part of the browser's new feature designed to fight fake news. Visitors to the Mail Online who use the Microsoft Edge browser are now greeted with a statement saying 'this website generally fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability'.

What the heck is Daily Mail web site? I use MS Edge but do not use Microsoft email products. Am I OK or not?
Hell, Microsoft defender has told me it doesn’t trust stuff from Microsoft !............................
It’s the Daily Mail TABLOID from the UK...............
The “We’ll do the thinking for you, m’kay?” web browser.
Microsoft defender has told me it doesnt trust stuff from Microsoft
A feature, not a bug.
we certainly do NOT need Microsh*t to screen our internet usage, and I for one do not want any advice from MS
Which was WAYYY more accurate when it came to reporting things like the Klintoon scandals than any of the MSM were in the good old US of A!
CHROME tells me FR is “Not Secure” and not to use passwords or credit cards on the site. Looks like they want to starve FR of donations, the slimeballs...
This isn’t about security but about douchbaggery.
But, hey, they may issue a warning about the New York Slimes any day now, any day....

I dunno, go to the link above and see if a warning pops up. It might be in the next Windows update.
Daily Mail is definitely far more complete in its articles. Does not like Trump but often is worth checking for details that our If-True media omits.

It was sometime in the last few years in the news that some antivirus program had reported that Windows itself was a virus.
I just visited www.dailymail.uk.com without any warnings or issues whatsoever using Edge in Virginia. Maybe, an Irish issue only?
I too get a “not secure” ahead of my www.freerepublic.com internet address bar.

I’m not keen on anything telling me any news site is bad - or good, for that matter. Left, right, center or whatever-leaning. Some thing people can choose for themselves.
What sort of moron uses a Microsoft browser?

Nope. But I guess, according to PC Mag:
“Previously, the service was only available as a downloadable plug-in, but Microsoft is now providing it pre-installed within the mobile app. It is not on by default, however; users will need to go into the settings pane and enable it under the “News rating.”
So I would suppose it’s in the browsers settings somewhere.
That’s because FR still inexplicably won’t spring for a SSL certificate.
The darn browser came loaded with my laptop, and Microsoft tells me how safe everything is because the version of Windows 10 I have will not allow any outside software unless I OK it first. What saves me is I do not browse or do emails on this laptop and connect to only 2 web sites, my broker and my bank. Everything else is from the computer I am using now.
