President Trump plans to use remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room on Saturday afternoon to propose a notable immigration compromise, according to sources familiar with the speech.
Details: The offer is expected to include Trumps $5.7 billion demand for wall money in exchange for the BRIDGE Act which would extend protections for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and also legislation to extend the legal status of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, according to a source with direct knowledge.
Jared Kushner and Mike Pence have led the crafting of this deal and the negotiations with members, according to White House officials.

DACA has no idea how long they have to wait, what is expected, and if they qualify.
It's about "never attaining citizenship".
You are right. The dems showed no interest in a DACA deal the last time Trump offered.
The Dems cant possibly accept and Trump knows it. This is a PR event designed to shame the Democrats and display them to be the bad faith actors they are.
And for POTUS to say “See I tried everything and the Dems won’t take it. Now I have to reopen the government. We’ve got to elect more Republicans. Bla, bla, bla.” Cave incoming. Guaranteed.
Total cave.
Any “negotiation” with liberal Manhattan Democrat Kushner and Deep State Pence is a disaster.
Drop your necklaces and chill!
Should have known about Pence all along too—best buds with Flake and Ryan, chaired Trump’s disastrous transition team, and creepy as heck.
He gets them to agree. He then sets rules and who qualifies fro DACA. Those or many who get it remember Trump and for all we know after all the restrictions he could out out then we could be talking 1% of them to stay here legally.
Let us see and wait before we act like the emotional radicals on the left I say
This is obviously meant to be an anti Trump thread.
I did read it. McConnell told him the truth. Nancy is entrenched and cannot move.
We have a divided government and compromise is a necessary evil. As long as we get the wall funding, I understand our side needs to give up something. Thats reality.
Supreme Court Hints It Won't Hear Trump's DACA Appeal This Term
The U.S. Supreme Court took no action Friday on President Donald Trumps bid to end deportation protections for hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants, suggesting the program may stay in place at least until the end of this year.
Under the courts usual practices, Friday was the last day to accept an appeal and schedule the case for the last week of arguments in late April. The courts current term runs through June, and the next one starts in October.
Unfortunately too often in this situation he doesn’t.
And he has been by far the best hope we’ve had.
“Our president is just systematically backing them into a corner where he can show that DACA means nothing to them, just democrat votes by illegal aliens.”
Could be. Or maybe he is just making them an offer they can’t refuse. Trump has been hinting all along that DACA was on the table. Democrats will be sunk if they don’t accept it or something close to it.
Not sure I’m up to date, but I have stuck in my mind that total cost to secure the border will be $25B. I don’t think I’d settle for $5.7B for just one year of funding. Secure funding for $5.7 per year for five years. Then we can talk.
Drop your necklaces and chill!
The GOP doesn’t want a wall. POTUS can’t do this riding solo. Sorry.
Not really, since he hypothetically at worst would only have to wait for getting his 3rd SC nomination on the court to handle that.
No reason to involve DACA here. If he caves now, which he seems to be doing (presumably this is just a formality for an already done deal), he also will lose the 30-day administrative notice to RIF hundreds of thousands of useless, Obama-loyal federal employees.
My post has a link to an article for this “deal”. Your comment included no links to any articles. Why don’t you post links to the other two “deals” you claim you “saw”? Then readers can actually compare them.
“Cave.”
Don’t see it that way, he still demands 5 billion for the wall, DACA shows he’s willing to negotiate. Pelosi and Schumer will turn it down. Trump playing them like a fiddle. Keep in mind Trump has support fro 50% of Latinos.
The “dreamers” are here to stay. So might as well try to get some actual barriers to illegal immigration this time. We’ve been promised those since the first amnesty in the 80’s. There’s no reason to believe we will get them this time either, were it not for Trump.
You make my point. Don’t panic.
