I had a great dinner at a local Red Lobster the other night. The crab cakes were excellent, the staff and service friendly and terrific.
But alas that was my last meal at the Red Lobster.
The Red Lobster, which I thought was in the business of selling seafood dinners and lunches, is in another business altogether: leftwing politics.
The company, owned by an outfit in San Francisco called Golden Gate Capital, is run by a slew of Hillary Clinton supporters who have decided to follow a prompting from an ex-Clinton staffer and make censorship their main product, joining the anti-free press jihad that has made it their business to silence conservatives in the media. The latest example is the targeting of Foxs Tucker Carlson, with the Red Lobster officiously and piously announcing the following:
Red Lobsters advertising buying guidelines reflect our core values and commitment to supporting programming that represents the highest standards of good taste, fair practice and objectivity.
...
Lets be clear. When the curtain is pulled back, the real core values that run the Red Lobster, courtesy of the network of leftwing activists disguised as corporate officials, are contempt for a free press and free speech.

If I boycotted every company that pisses me off politically I'd have to live naked in the woods eating roots and berries.
Welcome to my world! Ha! (It’s not as bad as it sounds)
We eat out frequently, we have a core of places we like to go locally just because we know the servers and they know us and we get good service because of that. We typically only go to Red Lobster a few times a year, I will never go again. I know they won’t miss me but I won’t miss them either.
I’m OK with someone who has different political views from me, I don’t like it that there are Socialist among us but that is the way it is. What I will not condone is treating someone with different political or religious beliefs with contempt.
So just go to Hell you Red Lobster Commies.
From wiki, Darden owns Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Yard House, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood.
The local Red Lobster is our favorite restaurant. Service is great and food is excellent & reasonably priced. Family groups are the majority there so my wife & I always get seated instantly.
To boycott our RL because of the politics of the home office would be hurtful to all concerned at the local level.
It’s not like Gillette’s in your face TV manifesto.
My bad. I will be sure to punish myself later
Censorship is a growth industry among the Leftists.
I was pleasantly taken aback to see that FNC is standing up to the creeps at Red Lobster and its owners, and refusing to be intimidated.....”Fox News issued this statement: We cannot and will not allow voices like Tucker Carlson to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts from the likes of Moveon.org, Media Matters and Sleeping Giants......” And I say, Good bye, Red Lobster!
Roger that.
It would be something if conservative leaning county health inspectors start shutting them down for “failed” inspections.
“Time for Joes Crab Shack.”
Much, much better than Red Lobster.
I’m pretty tall and I remember many years ago in the ‘80s going to Red Lobster with some friends. As I was walking to my table a very short waitress came bursting out of the kitchen with several plates on each arm. She was so startled to see tall me that she dropped them all. I was thinking, ‘that’s a lot of steak and lobster.’
Someone should make red flags the hammer and sickles replaced with a lobster in a similar shape, and hang ‘em at all the red lobsters
I don’t think its too early anymore.
We ate at Red Lobster yesterday. (Wife’s birthday).
It was on a MONDAY at 5pm. The parking lot was almost full and we had to wait a short time for a table.
Not hurting business ... so far.
Thanks RoosterRedux.
The only halfway decent thing to eat at Olive Garden, is their salad and breadsticks. Everything else is tv dinner quality, at best.
The wife is the cook in the family but I could whip up a pot of sauce with homemade meatballs and other meats that would embarrass Olive Garden into closing down for good.
Thanks, I missed that info.
You’d think that the Board of Directors or stockholders would get the word to these CEOs that all their Social Righteousness preening is grossly counterproductive to the company business.
