This is just so much crap! The economy ( as measured by the stock market I suppose) goes up and down independently of how many useless people we have on our payroll at any given time.
$5 billion amounts to like 000.08 of the economy. Unnoticeable.
We wouldn’t be aware they was a shutdown save for the cable tv fake news media chyrons blaring on about it.

The government always operates at a loss. They take $1.00 in taxpayer money and turn it into $0.23 worth of crap you don’t need, and that’s being generous.
