Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) criticized CBS News Saturday night for what she considered lack of diversity in its team of reporters covering the upcoming 2020 presidential election.
“This WH admin has made having a functional understanding of race in America one of the most important core competencies for a political journalist to have, yet [CBS News] hasn’t assigned a *single* black journalist to cover the 2020 election,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet.
“Unacceptable in 2019. Try again,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

But is she actually right about this? Looking at CBS News, and local CBS affiliates, I don’t see what should be such a glaring omission; admittedly, I don’t watch CBS news all that much. And given Rep Ocasio-Cortez’s record and reputation for accuracy....s/
Talent, skill, ability, and quality have nothing to do with it. According to lefties, people should just be given things without earning it.
I give a rats behind about color, but lefties are simply obsessed with skin color and race. They are the biggest racists and sexists out there.
Athough I lke what she is doing, somehow she has a way of pissing everybody off. She will either have a short career or will be around for a while. As long as she is pissing off the fake news media bring out the popcorn.
She’s very stupid. She might have book smarts (some have said she does) but her instincts are horrible. Attacking people like Joe Lieberman and saying their party is over, it’s hers now is bad enough. That will make the party bosses hate her. Now she’s attacking her media boot lickers too. They don’t like being questioned, especially when they secretly think “who do you think you are? We made you, girl!” She’s making enemies out of everyone except the far left radicals.
For a liberal, diversity has only to do with skin color, gender, and sexuality. Not real deep thinkers, they. Stuck in junior high.
On this, you are absolutely correct. One can turn on MSNBC and watch twelve hours of ‘news’, and find that maybe out of the fifty journalists and guests...you might see a total of three blacks, and maybe one single Latino. Same with CNN.
On CBS, the amusing thing is that if you went to look for their black journalists...most are in the sports news group. They probably make one up one-third of on-camera analysis for baseball, football, and basketball.

You are most definitely correct. She is moderately attractive and fawned over by the media. She really thinks she is important. She is not. She has two choices which are to continue to be a Marxist rebel that hurts the democrat party or do what Nancy Pelosi tells her to do.
The real hell of it is, she and Pelosi want the same thing. Pelosi is more politically astute and knows when to keep her mouth shut or just spew lies. Cortez in her ignorance says what she really believes which is the same as Pelosi. Pelosi will make her shut up or crush her.
This will bring much discord in the democrat party. Cortez defeated a left wing democrat that knew to keep a low profile on his political beliefs. He would have voted almost identical to Cortez. He knew to keep his mouth shut on critical issues. I am most pleased we have Cortez. She reveals the true face of the democrats.
Totally agree. If people would stop talking about her, I believe she would dry up and blow away.

Here’s some functional understanding. Adults don’t need to hear yet another high and mighty rant from an insecure child trying to make a name for herself as a racebaiter. Seeing the world through the lens of peasant adversarial tribalism is exactly why Puerto Rico and 80% of the world is a s...hole. What a waste of a mind and what a waste of an opportunity.
Heavy on the latin out here in Cal. As for the networks, MSNBC and CNN have a fair share of blacks and latinx but bear in mind the slots not filled by women (and CNN is almost all woman-all day) are filled by gay men as part of their movement into the arts starting some 30 years ago - who will not take kindly to a straight woman stirring their honey pot.

‘Diversity’ isn’t where it’s at though those pushing it believe everyone should be on board their ship.
Cortez is still acting like an activist rather than the position she holds in office. She’s pushing hard for Sanders socialism...unfortunately the youth are listening and love that she’s opposing the “oldsters” regardless of party.
