The latest excuse for progressive hyperventilation is the news leaked last night to ABC News and confirmed by several other media outlets: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will be leaving the Department of Justice in a matter of weeks. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave his role in the coming weeks, multiple sources familiar with his plans told ABC News.

Rosenstein has communicated to President Donald Trump and White House officials his plan to depart the administration around the time William Barr, Trump's nominee for attorney general, would take office following a Senate confirmation.

President Trump's criticisms of Rosenstein automatically made him a hero to the left.

Rosenstein had talked about how he was going to secretly record President Trump at the White House and use the recordings to remove Trump from office.

Rosenstein also signed an illegal and fraudulent FISA application and claimed that he had never read it.

“Rosenstein is expected to leave his role in the coming weeks, multiple sources familiar with his plans told ABC News.”

1: what the hell does leaving his role mean?
2: “multiple sources”. Yeah that BS again
3: He should be facing charges for organizating illegal surveillance on a Presidential campaign.

This bastard should be on trial for malfeasance. Mirengoff, my least favorite Powerline author, lays it out here rather nicely: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/01/report-rosenstein-will-be-out-soon.php

“Rosenstein has communicated to President Donald Trump and White House officials his plan to depart the administration around the time William Barr, Trump’s nominee for attorney general, “

So is this a handoff to Barr? I don’t really like the idea of Barr as AG. Trump had better start picking people who will help, not hinder his policies. With Tillerson, Kelly, Mattis and Sessions, he’s managed to pick a bucket of cocks!

“He should be facing charges for organizating illegal surveillance on a Presidential campaign.”

And multiple coup attempts. I call that high treason.

This guy just gets to resign? The rule of law is dead.

He’ll likely join a big law firm, perhaps Vinson & Ellis, for multiples of his $200k government salary.

He is retiring. Why does it takes weeks and then no specific date is given? sounds like total BS.

New Attorney General always picks his right arm man.

This is such nonsense.

He was known to be leaving, but they try to blow it out to mean something. I used a tooth-pick last week. (probably more climactic)

The original story was that RR would stay on until William Barr was confirmed. That’s unknown right now. It’s pretty normal for a DAG to leave when a new AG takes over. If there’s a story here, that’s not it.

It’s slim pickings in the swamp.
I share your concern that it is just a handoff to a Bush League Republican.

“I share your concern that it is just a handoff to a Bush League Republican.”

I just wrote to Trump about Barr. And pointed out that he’s come up craps way too many of his key appointments. ( i.e. Sessions, Tillerson, Rancid Penis, Kelly, Mattis and Wray), and that he’d better consider Barr very carefully lest he go from the frying pan into the fire with him. He’d be way better served by s group of smart nobodies who don’t have him as their primary target.
