Well to Merkel ............”A reasonable NATO policy means crisis prevention, stabilization of weak states, economic development and the fight against hunger, climate change and water scarcity,” ..and should be included/considered as Germany’s fair share.That financial commitment to the military alliance shouldn’t be the only measure equated in their 2% commitment.
I find it laughable that Merkel wants a greater role globally when in fact stated that She could end its military mission in Afghanistan if the US pulls out its troops....that it was “out of the question” to maintain a military presence in Afghanistan if the protection and support of German troops could not be guaranteed by the US..
She can’t have it both ways!

Well they can’t handle truth...they’re afraid it’ll spread and sap their authority where they’ve developed strongholds on society. So they continue to build up their fantasy world of unreality to retain power and leverage over the masses.
Of course people today are drawn easily into fantasy ideologies because it’s hard work to live in the real world as it is. Building a nice fluffy ‘feel good’ cloud around ones self is easy. Then when reality breaks through they still evade the truth by blaming someone else.
