Working on Christmas Eve and through the government shutdown over border wall funding, President Donald Trump tweeted he had authorized the construction of a 115-mile stretch of border wall in Texas.
"I am in the Oval Office & just gave out a 115 mile long contract for another large section of the Wall in Texas," President Trump tweeted Monday night. "We are already building and renovating many miles of Wall, some complete.
"Democrats must end Shutdown and finish funding. Billions of Dollars, & lives, will be saved!"
Working in the Oval Office after canceling his trip to Mar-a-Lago in Florida because of the shutdown, President Trump met Monday with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and other officials to discuss border security issues as a partial government shutdown over his U.S.-Mexico border wall entered Christmas without a clear resolution in sight.
Though both sides have traded offers over the dollars, they remain far apart on the wall. The White House insisted Trump will reject any deal that does not include money for a wall or fence; Democrats held firm in their opposition to a wall or other physical barrier.
In a joint statement Monday, the Democratic leaders of Congress, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, said as long as Trump keeps listening to the House Freedom Caucus and others on the right flank, there is no easy resolution to the impasse.
"It's Christmas Eve and President Trump is plunging the country into chaos," the leaders said...

Illegal immigration and immigration of our enemies is invasion.
Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution demands Trump prevent invasion.
Those federal officials in opposition of preventing invasion are committing illegal federal acts and should be forcibly removed from office.
Another possibility could be 15 miles in Texas (instead of 115). The RGV-02 and RGV-03 segments that were awarded a few weeks ago total about 15 miles, in Texas.
If it is a new award yesterday (24 Dec) for 115 miles though, then we are really off to the races with wall building.
At this point in the program, a few billion dollars will go to work relatively quickly, and will make a big difference on the ground.
The more tantalizing prospect for the 115 mile number, would be the 55 miles planned for Laredo, and 60 more miles also planned in the Lower Rio Grande Valley (which would largely button up the RGV). If that was it, it is going to make a huge difference in illegal immigrant flows.
If that is it, then it would seem that the President is tapping new funds. If he is tapping new funds, then there might even be more big awards coming. Outside of the RGV and Laredo, border barrier will probably run for a lot less money ($4-10 Mil/mile), and run over terrain that is a lot quicker to build. Every billion after the RGV and Laredo, is another 100-200 miles of wall.
Coming big war might be in Europe—Like Before, Germany and EU vs, Italy, France England and Poland.
Nice
These so-called Dim leaders are plunging the country into non-nonsensical, overwrought rhetoric.

Thats our Trump! Getting it done while Chucky holds the bag!
The river we call the Rio Grande in the United States is known as the Rio Bravo del Norte in Mexico.
...Or so says Wikipedia.
Better tell the folks in El Paso, TX and numerous other places.
Ther Rio grande is also called the Rio Bravo.
The southern border is a small percentage of our “invasion” problem in Texas, IMO.
Thats funny I looked out the window this morning and didnt see a single sign of chaos.
“Go ahead Schumer, make my day. Keep the non-essential government shut down til hell freezes over. MAGA!!”
Best election, best POTUS, evah!

Here we go again with another partial government shutdown.
The fact that government shutdowns are so regular, and annoying to some but never a catastrophe tells you something.
The fact that the vast majority of the federal government is nonessential enough that the vast majority of Americans can get by just fine without it tells you something.
Basically, its national security and defense including border protection, by the way that are considered essential. Gee, thats interesting. Thats basically what the U.S. Constitution mandates for the federal government. Everything else was left to the people and the states. Theres also Social Security and Medicare. Retirement and health insurance were not part of the Constitution. But once the government passed laws making them promises, they became essential. Whether they government should have done that is another discussion.
Beyond that, pretty much everything is nonessential.

In today’s (Christmas) comments to the press from the Oval Office, the President not only announced 115 miles in Texas.
He also announced his projection of 500-550 miles total before the election.
If he pulls that off, he will have accomplished some truly great work on the border.
Yeah, we should change all of them to Mercun names.
Especially all our sacred cities: San Jose goes to Saint Joe, San Francisco goes to Saint Francis, Los Angeles...etc etc.
