Why Democrats really fear Trump's wall
Washington Times ^ | December 13, 2018 | By Jennifer Harper

Why should the U.S. build a better wall on the southern border? House Majority Whip Steve Scalise offered a clear and candid rationale during a Fox News appearance this week, telling host Mark Levin that 10 known terrorists are captured each day trying to breach the border. U.S. Customs and Border Protections also informed Congress that 3,029 people were apprehended in one day this month — deeming the occurrence a crisis.

Meanwhile, 21 percent of all potential migrants — an astonishing 158 million people — would like to come live in America if they could, according to a Gallup analysis, which found that the U.S. has remained the No. 1 destination for the last decade.

There is a viable rationale for border improvement. The wall, however, has become a showcase for President Trump’s foes, who wrap their opposition in humanitarian concerns — even though they have walls and barriers of every description around their own homes.

Talk radio kingpin Rush Limbaugh points out that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are part of this group — and appear motivated by political concerns rather than moral calling.

“They could never, ever sign on to and assist in the funding and construction of a wall. You know why? Because walls work. These people that we’re talking about put walls around their homes and their estates. They know that walls work, and that’s precisely why there isn’t going to be one on the southern border, because if there ever is a wall, guess what? We finally will have control over who gets into this country and who doesn’t,” Mr. Limbaugh told his 14 million

"The commie left wants open borders because they need to change the voter demographic in this country. You let in as many illegals as humanly possible, all of those people are Dem voters..give them welfare, food stamps, and health care all on our dime and all the left asks in return is their vote..that simple."

________________

Yes, you are correct. Their plan is well in place.

It's going to take a miracle to overcome the lethargic, unaware decades-long governance of our politicians and others.

THE NUMBER OF ILLEGALS IS ENORMOUS, and they are dumping out babies far faster than whites, right thinking blacks, and others who would be prone to vote for the good of the country.

The nation as we knew it is over without a miracle or two.

But I believe in miracles.

Good piece...Rats are scared to death of a southern border wall, they know it’ll go a long way in inhibiting illegal aliens, terrorists, drugs, etc.

Look at thing. If anyone needs to be investigated for financial crimes it’s that b*tch. Remember when she was caught trading on insider info? That’s why the Stock act of 2012 was passed but needless to say she’s still doing it

.….my guess is a compromise. Trump will give them something in return for 5 billion.

I predict billions to inner city neighborhoods in Chicago, Detroit and elsewhere. Then the Dems can claim some credit and save some face on caving in re the wall.

Trump wants to help black inner cities so it’s a win win.

Unfortunately, for now, the Democrats still have half the votes guys...……..so Trump HAS TO compromise.

"Trump and the people he represents will not lose this fight."

A big thanks to retiring ryan for his traitorous lead in snuffing out President Trump's chance in achieving the wall.

What’s Chuckie have to say about the wall the US paid for in Israel? Has he ever said it was a failure?

Jim, That 158 million is way too low! I can tell you from personal knowledge, half of India would migrate to United States if they could. Ditto with China, where I also have personal contacts. Just those 2 countries we are talking 1200 Million people. Then there are more Billions of poor people all over the world.

What is the biggest attraction of United States? The generous welfare benefits!

... personal threats can buy a LOT of influence ...

That's been my belief all along. Those that didn't play along usually ended up dead. Soros is pulling this nonsense, yet no one sees fit to take him out.

It’s all about votes and the dems are willing allow a little bit of terrorism and crime along with the new votes they will get.

It is all about votes, always has been. Democrats do not care about their welfare, only the political power they would provide.

A wall is a useful tool of border enforcement, but if I were an open borders person there is probably nothing I’d love more than near exclusive debate and conversation about a wall - a project which will not have an impact for years and only reduce immigration from one popular route. This total conversation and news cycle means politicians will not be asked to do more immediate tasks which will be helpful.

These are things like real legal penalties for being here illegally rather than merely being sent home, giving employers immunity for questioning the quality of a persons work authorization papers, changing laws or interpretations to eliminate birth tourism, performing visa entry/exit checking, and many more.

The white house has a fence which, if someone were so inclined, could easily be breached. It is helpful as it gives Secret Service time to react.

It is also important that whoever does breach that wall knows they will not be given a cabinet position. They won’t even be given a landscaping position. They won’t be able to stay for dinner. They won’t merely be sent home either. They will incur unpleasant legal consequences.

Remember when the Pope was reminded of that.

He chucked and said, “We need to do that here. You should not build one there”.

I’ll try to find the article and quote.

The southern border must be secured. But that is only a part
of the problem. There is a large number that come in by the
visa and never leave.
