As Venezuela continues to crumble under the socialist dictatorship of President Nicolas Maduro, some are expressing words of warning – and resentment – against a six-year-old gun control bill that stripped citizens of their weapons.
“Guns would have served as a vital pillar to remaining a free people, or at least able to put up a fight,” Javier Vanegas, 28, a Venezuelan teacher of English now exiled in Ecuador, told Fox News. “The government security forces, at the beginning of this debacle, knew they had no real opposition to their force. Once things were this bad, it was a clear declaration of war against an unarmed population.”

Even in states with Constitutional carry laws there’s tyrants with badges harassing gun owners and sometimes arresting people for carrying when it’s perfectly legal

We are just not seeing arrest for gun ownership in most states that have shall issue and or constitutional carry.
Over all we are winning the war on guns except a very few states that make the news as very anti gun.

Too many people forget (or never knew) that the American Revolution (the actual shooting war) started not with taxes, but when the British sent troops from Boston to seize the colonists’ arsenal at Concord. The SHTF because the colonists realized that without those weapons, they were defenseless subjects of tyranny. After the war, gun ownership was viewed as necessary to protect against domestic tyranny (see Civil War).

Yes, but the Alamo was reason for Mexican citizens to demand weapons (as it was part of Mexico at the time); Santa Anna was sent to deal with foreign settlers who wouldn’t pay Mexican taxes...

I’m thinking about going again. To walk the short distances at the San Jacinto battlefield and realize the enormity of the retributive slaughter of Santa Ana’s enemies is to actually feel the blessing of siezing liberty with your own hands. The victory was achieved so quickly the Mexican officers did not know it was happening
