The Department of Justice wiped text messages between former FBI employees Lisa Page and Peter Strozk from their cell phones before the Office of the Inspector General could review them, a new report from the DOJ watchdog reveals.
Page and Strozk’s involvement with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has been heavily scrutinized after it was revealed they had sent numerous anti-Trump text messages back and forth to one another. Mueller has been tasked with looking into whether or not Donald Trump and his campaign associates coordinated with Russian officials to steal the 2016 election away from Hillary Clinton.
The 11-page report reveals that almost a month after Strzok was removed from Mueller’s team, his government-issued iPhone was wiped clean and restored to factory settings by another individual working in Mueller’s office. The special counsel’s Record’s Officer told investigators that “she determined it did not contain records that needed to be retained.”
“She noted in her records log about Strzok’s phone: ‘No substantive texts, notes or reminders,'” the report states.

One would think that Flynn was sophisticated enough to know better than to talk to them. He probably had a swelled head - he was a big, “respected” player in DC now, people were telling him and he believed it. Flynn’s guard was down, Comey knew it, and took advantage of the situation.
LE doesn’t always have to tell a subject about potential legal jeopardy. They have all sorts of tricks to make a canary sing. We also know of cases of “planting of evidence”. This case shows experienced agents were directed to deliberately and selectively not to follow their own protocols; they should not benefit from their breaking their own internal rules. And some other questions need to be answered.
Is there anyone who considered how this might damage the reputation of the institution so as to cause citizens to distrust their government? Exactly why was it so urgent to talk to Flynn about what they needed to talk about at that time - why could it not wait a few weeks, a month, etc? Who decided it was urgent and why? This leads all the way back to Obama colluding with the Clintons to overturn the election. Cheryl Mills CYA emailed to herself on Inaugeration Day, why?

The upside is that the FBI had their ONE SHOT, and they used it on Flynn.
Now everybody knows better. I suspect virtually NO ONE will be talking to the FBI in the future.

Look up the important but (oddly) rarely used “best evidence rule” as a piece of legal doctrine.
It says that an original document should be used versus a copy unless the original is unavailable.
Now IANAL but I have worked as a paralegal and my brother is an atty and judge so we discuss these types of things all the time. But to me, this is not just the FBI using [an innocent] Xerox copy of a document: It is deliberately ratifying the use of a compromised document.
Kind of like, you know, 0bama’s birth cert. You can have whatever opinion you wish as to 0bama’s birthpace, but the idea that the document submitted as evidence of same has ten or more edits on it means that you know, from the outset, you are accepting garbage as your evidence and the other side knows it is garbage and is just waiting for and yet demanding you accept it. You know you’re being lied to at some level.

Curiously, Comey became a very rich man over the years.
So who’s going to jail? What? Nobody? Then why are we being told about this. The only news I want to hear is WHEN THEY ARE ARRESTED!
Also in that exploded and collapsed building were immunization and medical records from the Gulf War, whose destruction prevented tens of thousands of veterans from getting the proper services and possible compensation they were likely due.

This and all the other crimes committed by Obama’s Justice dept (It’s still staffed with his and Hillary’s people) need to be investigated by competent non partisan committee or person and grand juries conviened for all the principals involved.

Comey is so out of control and has just recently confessed on TV to crimes that he “got away with” and chuckled because he knows those that should be arresting him are corrupt also.

That’s what I’ve been wondering. Just because the rats are taking over the House is no reason those involved in the coup can’t be brought to justice. The investigation doesn’t necessarily have to come from Congress, does it? Can’t Trump’s new AG convene a grand jury?
