The major takeaway from the 40-page sentencing memorandum filed by federal prosecutors Friday for Michael Cohen, President Trumps former personal attorney, is this: The president is very likely to be indicted on a charge of violating federal campaign finance laws.
It has been obvious for some time that President Trump is the principal subject of the investigation still being conducted by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
..But when Cohen pleaded guilty in August, prosecutors induced him to make an extraordinary statement in open court: the payments to the women were made in coordination with and at the direction of the candidate for federal office Donald Trump.
...Moreover, campaign finance infractions are often settled by payment of an administrative fine, not turned into felony prosecutions. To be sure, federal prosecutors in New York City have charged them as felonies before most notably in 2014 against Dinesh DSouza, whom Trump later pardoned.
In marked contrast, though, when it was discovered that Barack Obamas 2008 presidential campaign was guilty of violations involving nearly $2 million an amount that dwarfs the $280,000 in Cohens case the Obama Justice Department decided not to prosecute. Instead, the matter was quietly disposed of by a $375,000 fine by the Federal Election Commission.

Keep in mind that Andy Boy was is and always will be a NeverTrump scumbag - yes I called McCarthy a scumbag. This is just more suck up to his masters at Faux News.
That is one party I'll be attending even if I have to crash it. Be a shame to waste all that ammo and time at the reloading bench.
Would be anything like when Obamas campaign broke the law, and paid a $335,000
See the difference?
Idiocy in action.
Dont forget that McCarthy started out as a NeverTrumper, then switched to supporting President Trump.
At the end of the article McCarthy gives Trumps side of argument.
Its also posted on FoxNews, who has lurched to the left, considerably.
I think if you add it all together, its basically click bait.
“Campaigns” are creations of State Legislatures, and they are for the purpose of guiding the Legislature in its plenary power to appoint Electors for President and Vice President.
No “rules” or “laws” made at the Federal level (by Congress OR the Executive Branch) have any sway over the processes by which the State Legislatures indirectly elect the President. The voting pertaining to Electors that takes place on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November are NOT Federal elections, they are 50 State elections to appoint State officers (the Electors).
Search the Constitution all you like. Congress has no authority over the appointment of Electors, and any laws that say otherwise are unconstitutional.
Wrong.
If they indict Trump, it will be time for Trumpsters to stand up and protect him. For example, the folks in Paris have the right idea to get their message across.
Well, if your scenario plays out, I guess we’ll have to wait and see if all the folks with 3%er, Oath Keeper, and Molon Labe stickers on their cars are legit.
This is a bigger stretch than Pelosis last plastic surgery.
“...cant indict a sitting President...”
I won’t be surprised if they do just from the aspect of another smear on Trump, that the MSM and democrats will harp on 24/7. It will be just another smear to play out the clock.
We are all waiting impatiently for Trump to declassify documents. At some point in time, Trump has to play his cards. He just has to.
For instance, what Comey hid behind during his questioning — “I can’t speak about an ongoing investigation” — Trump should declassify every possible thing associated with the investigation. Everything.
And then wrap these bastards up for the next thirty years.
The 60,000 +++ sealed indictments need to start dropping like the December temperatures.
I posted yesterday, before this article came out, what was up with the SDNY being involved with this and that they would charge Trump. The entire game is to get him to resign in exchange for not being indicted/impeached.
So let me understand this. Two bimbos BLACKMAIL Trump and the people who face criminal charges are Cohen and Trump?
If a trial is held in NYC, all they need to do is convince 12 liberals that Donald Trump deserves punishment. It could be for breathing too much air. Doesn’t matter. A jury in the right city will convict.
As a sitting President, it probably doesn’t matter. While he is in office. But if it goes to impeachment, will Republican senators REALLY vote not guilty? Well, probably enough to stop the impeachment.
Practically, it would fire up the GOP base beyond the moon. I think a lot of independents also see this for what it is: pressing criminal charges for the crime of beating Hillary in 2016. The Democrats are criminalizing politics. To win against a democrat is a crime. Just ask California.
This EVIL must be fought at every level!
“At most, Stormy may only have become a threat to come forward because of the campaign....”
It is all moot anyway - he used his own funds, which is well within the law.
Ok , if indictments come, Trump will need to play the trump cards and declassify anything that hurts the deep state.
I think the deep staters are trying to draw this thing out to 2020 election. So, Trump needs to move up the timetable and make everyone play their cards sooner than later.
Bad judgment from Trump, using Cohen for an attorney. He needed someone with integrity.
Should have asked the Russians to take care of it.
At the point the Rats move to impeach President Trump, it is time for street justice to start and a general uprising. This is the hill to die on and the Left must be stopped or then will enslave or kill all of us.
