A Los Angeles city councilman proposed on Wednesday that the city require movie theaters and sports venues to serve vegan food.
The law would make Los Angeles the first city in the nation to impose such a mandate. At a press conference on the steps of City Hall, councilman Paul Koretz announced the measure alongside representatives from PETA, the Humane League, and the Los Angeles Food Policy Council. The ordinance would require theaters and other large-scale entertainment venues that serve food to offer at least one vegan protein option on their menus.
Theres really no downside to it, Koretz told Variety. The change could easily be made in any venue. A movie theater serves hot dogs. They can serve vegan dogs. Its easy.

That fake dog better not touch my 100% beef jumbo.
Nice to see they’ve solved all of their problems with crime, congestion, broken schools and poverty so they have time and energy to address this.
That was actually my line with them back in the 70’s. :)
vegan is an old injun word that means “lousy hunter”.
Silly to think that in our capitalist atmosphere there isn’t already such fare? Might have something to do with nobody wanting it, or it would already have been.
So it is spoken
So it is written
So it shall be....
Tin pot dictators - at every level.
That should pack them in. (eyes rolling)
Government dictating what you eat. No area of life is free from the iron grip of the overpowering claws of a ravenous government.

They already serve nachos and popcorn...what more do the vegans need?
I don’t live in LA any more. But if I did I’d be happy to drop off bags of lawn clippings at the local theater. They could pay me $0.10/bag and sell it for $5/baggie (100s of baggies per bag). I wouldn’t get much richer, but they can make a killing on margins if there are actually a lot of vegans who want to eat at theaters and I could laugh at the idiots paying $5/baggie for my lawn clippings.
Non-dairy Milk Duds?
Olive oil-drizzled popcorn?
Right. If there was any demand for it, if there was any profit in it, every theater and stadium in the country would already be doing it. The fact that they’re not is all the information any wannabe government nazi should need.
If that was so, the market would have taken care of it. If I was a theater owner, if required to carry it, I would make it at a significant premium. You want a soy dog, that will be $25.

Not so-—it’s just saying vegan choices should be offered——you don’t have to order it.
.
Too many taxes
Too many laws
So cities can now make law to force anyone to do anything? How the hell is vegan food a concern of the government?
Los Angeles is not America
