Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who will likely become the next Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, praised President Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee, William Barr, on Friday, saying he is “highly capable, highly respected and will provide new and much-needed leadership for the Department of Justice.”

President Trump confirmed that on Friday, he will nominate as his next attorney general the man who served as attorney general from 1991-1993 during the George H.W. Bush administration.

“He was my first choice since day one,” Trump said on Friday morning.

Sen. Graham, who will likely replace the outgoing Judiciary chairman, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), praised Trump’s nominee.

“President Trump made an outstanding decision in nominating William Barr to serve as the next Attorney General,” Graham said.“Mr. Barr is highly capable, highly respected and will provide new and much-needed leadership for the Department of Justice.”

Chris Christie being considered to replace Sessions as AG, report says

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reportedly being considered as a replacement for ousted Attorney General Jeff Sessions, according to a report.

Sources close to the matter told CBS News on Thursday that Christie, a one-time presidential candidate, is part of a list that includes former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, outgoing Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and former Attorney General William Barr, who served under President George H.W. Bush, CBS reported.

For anyone wondering. Likely has nothing to do with GHWB death as Trump says it was his top pick since day 1 and here he is on the list over a month ago.

Oh, I saw it. As he was running for the chairmanship of the senate judiciary committee. I also saw that after he has been named to that post, he immediately went back to his old ways. He supporting a bill protecting mueler and is also sponsoring a bill to override Trump's foreign policy on Saudi Arabia over some mb terrorist reporter.

Yes, if limp wrist Lindsey is supporting him, then he is a bad choice.

It’s all about who the Senate will confirm. That leaves out Larry Klayman or any other DC outsider who would gladly do that job unbounded by political constraints.
Trump maybe, but the American will be very sorry Trump chose DC establishment insider William Barr. The Clinton and the Bush clans and their deep state cronies can all rest easy when Barr gets confirmed. Come on Trump, you put yourself up as a DC outsider. Yeah, you’ve done some good but in this case and a few others, you’re not very convincing, all things considered.

“Now I know for certain that Barr is a bad, bad choice”

I’m sure Linda recommended Barr as one of the few who could make it through the ‘republican’ controlled senate. What an f-ing disaster.

Trump should’ve appointed a special counsel headed up by Joe DiGenova a year ago.

Such as Kavanaugh? Graham was just as intent on getting him confirmed, too.
