Funny... Pennsylvania had a gas tax of the same magnitude phased-in over just 2 years ostensibly to pay for “road repair” (Ha!). We just re-elected the governor who proposed it.
Radical left carbon taxes + radical left antifa = riots in the streets of Paris.
Been reports that their left-wingers been using the protests as cover for their opportunities to destroy stuff - and make the yellow vests look bad.
That $0.30 is on top of gas already being around $7/gal.
And yes, someone did roll out a guillotine yesterday.
Is gasoline $7 a gallon in PA with a tax schedule set to hike it to $12 in 2020?
Lets be frank with the French......your citizens are pussies. These yellow vests should be hauled off by common citizens and beaten to death.
Same with Antifa pussies.
Are they shouting that and destroying property? Sounds more like pais soros #protestitutes. Not our side.
Do some research. The Yellow Vests are the middle class and rurul French. They are nationalists. The vandals are Leftists donning yellow vests to destroy French culture and national symbols. They are internationalist agent provocateurs acting against the interests of the nationalist Yellow Vests.
Nationalists vs. internationalists (aka globalists).
::It accomplishes nothing other than to make it easy to portray them as a crazed, violent mob. Its not good::
.....
The goal of portraying those who admire Trump as violent thugs has been acieved. Most likely, the vandals are paid Klantifa jerks.
What group does that lack of reverence or regard remind you of? Having gone on for so long, the "yellow vest" protests have attracted, thus giving cover to, other groups...groups that want to see a power vacuum and wish to fill it.
Read the book, "Is Paris Burning" and you'll see how the various French groups took advantage of the Nazi departure to attempt capture of the seat of government. Much the same went on in '68 and will be happening again in the near future in France.
Of course not and it will never go that far. But I think a sizable number of the French are itching for a change of government and I welcome that idea.
What they call the black block anarchists, what we call in America the likes of Antifa, love chaos and will don yellow vests to mix in and create havoc in society simply because they want that. They have been active in Europe for a long time and hitch their wagon to every cause out there simply to create trouble for it's own sake.
The yellow shirts are the middle class who have been angry and disenchanted with the Macron global efforts for a long time. But Macron was playing moderate during the last election and keeping his powder dry for the globalist efforts of recent months.
The French are nationalist through and through. Look at the French underground during WW2 and the post war era with de Gaulle being the perpetual pain in the backside of Europe. The French have always been "France First" and whether it worked for or against us, it's always been there. Some of Macron's rhetoric of late coupled with the global warming taxes he has introduced tipped the scales. The yellow shirts have expanded their demands of the limousine liberal globalists to other issues and rightly so.

See post #14.
a thoughtful response. We will watch then history unfold. It could go either way with this bunch.
Indeed. As per my tagline.
Au contraire (a shout-out to the French), rioting, violence and destruction got them a 6 month reprieve on the gas tax. If violence works once it will be tried again, just like that 4 year old melting down in the grocery store.
The government will not exist in 6 months.
The riots are a demonstration of no confidence.

That’s an interesting comment. The hell-no revolutionary fervor is probably gone from America’s middle class. We’ll vote for Trump. But absent some huge event, the elites know we’ll not take to the streets.
And that might not be from laziness, or meekness. It could be from knowing that the Deep State is so entrenched that street protests mean nothing.
So the manufacturers of yellow vests are cronies with the French ruling elite. How precious.
Perhaps the French have finally figured out that their elected officials are enacting policies of un-elected EU officials who are implementing a globalist agenda that will create poverty, dependence and serfdom in order to secure for the elites the perpetual power and wealth they crave.
If so it will get bloody.
