The founder of Southwest Key made millions from housing migrant children. His nonprofit has stockpiled taxpayer dollars and possibly engaged in self-dealing with top executives.
Juan Sanchez grew up along the Mexican border in a two-bedroom house so crowded with children that he didnt have a bed. But he fought his way to another life. He earned three degrees, including a doctorate in education from Harvard, before starting a nonprofit in his Texas hometown.
Mr. Sanchez has built an empire on the back of a crisis. His organization, Southwest Key Programs, now houses more migrant children than any other in the nation. Casting himself as a social-justice warrior, he calls himself El Presidente, a title inscribed outside his office and on the government contracts that helped make him rich.
Southwest Key has collected $1.7 billion in federal grants in the past decade, including $626 million in the past year alone. But as it has grown, tripling its revenue in three years, the organization has left a record of sloppy management and possible financial improprieties, according to dozens of interviews and an examination of documents. It has stockpiled tens of millions of taxpayer dollars with little government oversight and possibly engaged in self-dealing with top executives.

Mission:
The Southwest Key Programs mission is Opening doors to opportunity so individuals can achieve their dreams. A national, nonprofit organization, Southwest Key is committed to keeping kids out of jails and prisons and home with their families, in their communities.
We do this through three areas of programming: youth justice alternatives, immigrant children’s shelters, and education.
Southwest Key also seeks to create opportunities for families to become self-sufficient by offering programming in adult education, community building and workforce development.
The inspiring kids and families we work with are seeking the American dreamequality, education, and a healthier quality of life.
At Southwest Key, we simply open the doors to opportunity so they can achieve these dreams.
What in hell is “YOUTH JUSTICE ALTERNATIVES”...?
Taxpayer funded HUMAN TRAFFICKING..?
The company is apparently a network of legal STASH HOUSES.
US taxpayers are PAYING to be invaded.
They are paying to house the BAD INVADER KIDS of BAD PARENTS.
Those arent shelters. They are Forward Operating Bases.
Kudos to the New York Times.

Basically he buys or leases yuge buildings (like a former Wal-Mart), then they aggressively subdivide the interior with temp walls, dividers, etc.
Then that structure houses the invader kids for 49 days.
The US has to release them, and by that time their fellow-invader parents have come up to join them.
The CEO, though, describes that last part part nimbly:
“We RE-UNITE them with their families..”
His biggest stash house is in Brownsville, Texas because that’s where the CEO is from and it’s right across the US/Mex border.
If you’re a normal country like France, you can get invaded (like by the Wehrmacht), but they didn’t pay for the German Invasion Services rendered.
But in the USA, you can get invaded AFTER PAYING FOR IT.
Yet another shining example of a hypocritical liberal, that milks the taxpayer tit to get rich. I’d like to see where this person lives. If it’s a modest house in a middle class neighborhood, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. But, something tells me he lives the life of the Joel Osteen types. Could be wrong.
He like a like a corrupt politician only free lance.
"Casa Padre" - Father House.
Sounds really nice, huh. Tax-payer provided (sorta) DAD. Yeah, right.
The structure in back is a former WalMart.
Why the checkpoint..? Cuz molesters, yeah, but I get the feeling the company understands there are people who might not be big fans of getting invaded, that concerned citizens might come around to check out the operation.
They don't want that.
The invader kids get parked here for 49 days, playing soccer , video games, fighting, destroying stuff, and pretending to study. Then the parents come up to get them. Then they all stay, and we pay.
And La Raza gets rich.
Sounds similar to Catholic Charities (the grants and no oversight part.). At one time in the early 90s they were collecting over a billion a year in government grants. And people wonder why the USCCB is such a statist loving group. Bought and paid for by Democrats with our tax dollars.
We should be returning ALL of these people back to their own country as quickly as possible.
Illegal aliens and visa overstays are removed from other countries in hours, not months or years.
Bought and paid for by Democrats with our tax dollars.

And Bush League Republicans.
Graham, Alexander, Hoeven, Murkowsky, Rubio, etc. tried to make them all citizens.
In 2014 $2.8 BILLION of Catholic Charities budget came from the taxpayers. If the money is extracted at gunpoint (ie taxes) it isnt charity. Its a governmental welfare organization
